My first crochet earrings // Mis primero zarcillos de crochet (ENG/ESP)

As women, when we go out, we always like to have a piece that catches attention or sets a positive difference. And that's what I wanted, a colorful piece that could easily match.

My love for crochet began in high school when a teacher taught us how to crochet the edge of a handkerchief as a school activity. From that moment, this art never left my life. Although, if I'm honest, I prefer crocheting small pieces to large ones haha...

In this pair of earrings, I used stitches that are not difficult and that you can also use if you dare to make this piece.

Materials:

• 2 skeins of mercerized thread.
• 2 earring hooks.
• 2mm crochet hook.

I made the knot to start with the chains.

I made 15 chains.

I closed them with a slip stitch.

I made 24 single crochets in this loop.

I closed with a slip stitch, then I chained up two to give it height, and now I made double crochet stitches, one per chain.

I chained 5 and skipped a base stitch, then in the second base stitch, I started again with four double crochet stitches, one per base stitch. Then I chained 5 again. I skipped a base stitch and in the next one, I made 5 double crochet stitches in one base stitch.

I continued the same process, chaining five and making four double crochet stitches, one in each base stitch, until reaching the first stitch of this row where I closed with a slip stitch.

In the next row, I made 8 single crochets, one in each stitch from the previous row. Then I skipped two stitches and in the third one, I made eight double crochet stitches in the same stitch. I skipped two base stitches and continued with five single crochets. Then, I skipped two base stitches again, made three double crochet stitches in the third one, chained 3, and returned with three double crochet stitches in the same base stitch. I skipped two base stitches again and continued with five single crochets. I skipped two stitches and in the third one, I made eight double crochet stitches in the same stitch. Next, I made 8 single crochets, one in each stitch from the previous row, and thus finished this row.

I raised the next row with two double crochet stitches as height. I made a fan of three double crochet stitches, then chained two, and made another fan of three double crochet stitches. I repeated this step in the next row.

And I attached the hook.

I really liked them because the color is very pretty, and even though they're big, they're very lightweight to wear.
