Cuidar y proteger / Care and protect

Cuando bendigo a mis hijos, nietos, sobrinos, ahijados o me toca bendecir a otras personas, lo hago con amor y conocimiento de causa, soy muy respetuoso de ese momento sublime, dónde le pido a Dios que su Gracia y su misericordia sea derramada sobre ese ser:

Dios te bendiga, te cuide y te proteja siempre. Amén.

      Hace unos días alguien me preguntó: cuidar y proteger, no es lo mismo?; no, le respondí. Según la Real Academia de la Lengua Española, proteger significa: resguardar a una persona, animal o cosa de un perjuicio o peligro, poniéndole algo encima, rodeándolo... Mientras que cuidar son un conjunto de acciones que pueden incluir aspectos básicos de la vida como: alimentación, educación y recreación, velar por la salud de otro, porque esté bien. Cuando cuidamos estamos atendiendo al prójimo en alguna necesidad, le estamos asistiendo, dándole una mano amiga y hasta generosa. La protección es mucho más específica y es cuando estamos pendientes de evitar que alguien pueda estar en riesgo o en situaciones de peligro.

En conclusión: Amar, también es cuidar y proteger.

Dios te bendiga, te cuide y te proteja siempre, te lleve por el camino iluminado del amor, la justicia, la libertad y la paz. Amén

When I bless my children, grandchildren, nephews, godchildren or I have to bless other people, I do it with love and knowledge of the facts, I am very respectful of that sublime moment, where I ask God that his Grace and mercy be poured out on that being: > God bless you, take care of you and protect you always. Amen.

      A few days ago someone asked me: caring and protecting, isn't it the same thing? I did not answer. According to the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language, protecting means: Protecting a person, animal or thing from harm or danger, putting something on top of it, surrounding it... While caring is a set of actions that can include basic aspects of life such as: food, education and recreation, ensuring the health of another, so that they are well. When we care we are assisting our neighbor in some need, we are assisting them, giving them a friendly and even generous hand. Protection is much more specific and is when we are concerned with preventing someone from being at risk or in dangerous situations.

In conclusion: Love is also caring and protecting.

God bless you, take care of you and protect you always, take you along the illuminated path of love, justice, freedom and peace. Amen
