Hello collection lovers. Reading here is always a nice adventure. On a few occasions I have told you about collections I have, especially stamps. Here I learned that you can collect everything stones or socks like @mipiano (she collects very interesting things) and also affections and friends.
I wanted to tell you about my button collection but visiting a friend who is a psychologist I was surprised by her memorabilia collection. Today I am going to tell you about one of Leydi's collections.
She has a small place that is a cultural project and also a personal venture where she earns some money to support the family. But for that place she bought very few new items and took her collection of souvenirs with her.
Look at this beautiful red phone. It is an analog phone, it has a dial that makes a particular sound when dialing each number. How many family conversations went through that phone that stopped being used in our country in the last century more than 30 years ago. How many beautiful messages of love. How many sadnesses must have come through its handset. Family secrets, work commitments. If that phone would tell everything it listened to, a lot of books could be made.
Look at her tape recorder with tape cheeks. She, a romantic girl, I am sure she listened to songs by Pablo Milanés, Silvio Rodríguez but also Ricardo Arjona, Luis Miguel. So many cheeks with miles of tape with unforgettable melodies. Sometimes the tape would break or get tangled and we would go there to fix it.
Look at these devices that still work, a vef radio and a TV with black and white images.
There I was sure to see the adventures, a dramatized series that all Cuban children invariably watched at 7:30 at night. National adventures such as: Los pequeños campeones, Los papaloteros, Los pequeños fugitivos and international ones like: El zorro, Rintintín y la brigada canina, Flipper.
This camera captured unique family moments. Also analog, it had a roll of 24 to 36 photos, which came out original without so many filters or repetitions. She excitedly recounted that she took her graduation photos for her psychology degree with this camera.
Crystals, antique vases and cups adorn her shelves and are very utilitarian. Also porcelain jars, sugar bowls.
Very nice miniatures, small armchairs, small books but full of letters and memories.
The furniture is also from the family collection, the acetate records and some ornaments.
It is exciting to talk to this woman who loves her family roots and preserves them very well from her collections. She gives them a utilitarian value so that nostalgia doesn't hurt her but makes her feel proud of everything that helped her grow up.
Finally, I would like to show you her natural flowers that she brings to brighten up the place, some of them in sober vases made of pure crystal and others in a handmade piece. Leydi also collects affection for life, love, solidarity and the will to grow.
Thank you for reading me, If you liked his collection and want to see more of his stuff you can visit his space at the Science Museum in the city of Pinar del Rio, Cuba. In Lelov there is always a good tea and a smile.
