Hello everyone! I hope you have a nice weekend. Today I would like to tell you about my last weekend in Mexico City. For my girlfriend, me and a few of our friends, a festival was on the program this time. We spent two summery days at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez to experience the famous Vive Latino Festival. In this post, I would like to tell you about the impressions I gathered over the weekend.
Hallo zusammen! Ich hoffe ihr habt ein schönes Wochenende. Heute möchte ich euch von meinem letzten Wochenende in Mexiko City berichten. Für meine Freundin, mich und ein paar unserer Freunde stand diesmal ein Festival auf dem Programm. Wir verbrachten zwei sommerliche Tage am Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, um das berühmte Vive Latino Festival zu erleben. In diesem Beitrag möchte ich euch von meinen Eindrücken, die ich an diesem Wochenende gesammelt habe, berichten.
The Vive Latino is one of the most important music events in Latin America, attracting thousands of music enthusiasts every year. Since its inception in 1998, the festival has become a platform for a variety of musical genres, including rock, pop, hip-hop, reggae and more. With a colorful mix of local and international artists, the Vive Latino Festival offers a unique cultural experience that celebrates the diversity and richness of the Latin American music scene. So I was very excited to see what would await me.
Das Vive Latino ist eine der bedeutendsten Musikveranstaltungen Lateinamerikas, die jährlich Tausende von Musikbegeisterten anzieht. Seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 1998 hat sich das Festival zu einer Plattform für eine Vielzahl von Musikgenres entwickelt, darunter Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, Reggae und mehr. Mit einer bunten Mischung aus lokalen und internationalen Künstlern bietet das Vive Latino Festival eine einzigartige kulturelle Erfahrung, die die Vielfalt und den Reichtum der lateinamerikanischen Musikszene feiert. Ich war also schon sehr gespannt was mich erwarten würde.
After Hell & Heaven last year, it was already my second festival in Mexico and the relaxed but cheerful atmosphere immediately grabbed me. I'm not the biggest fan of Latin American music and therefore didn't know most of the bands. However, there were some internationally renowned rock bands, such as Bad Religion, Billy Idol, James, Kings of Leon and my personal highlight of the event, Greta von Fleet. But only the Spanish-speaking bands like Maná, Hombres G and Bellanova really got the party started.
Nach dem Hell & Heaven letztes Jahr, war es bereits mein zweites Festival in Mexiko und die entspannte, aber ausgelassene Atmosphäre packte mich sofort. Ich bin nicht der größte Freund lateinamerikanischer Musik und kannte deshalb die meisten Bands nicht. Allerdings waren auch einige international bekannte Rock-Bands dabei, wie zum Beispiel Bad Religion, Billy Idol, James, Kings of Leon oder mein persönliches Highlight der Veranstaltung, Greta von Fleet. So richtige Party-Stimmung kam aber nur bei den spanischsprachigen Bands, wie Maná, Hombres G oder Bellanova auf.
Another highlight for me was the race track itself, which I only knew from the Formula 1 Grand Prix on TV. It was a special feeling to experience a festival at this famous venue. The second evening also had an incredibly beautiful sunset to offer, as you can see in the pictures. What always amazes me is how little alcohol is consumed in Mexico and the Vive Latino Festival was no exception. Festivals in Mexico are much more civilized than in Europe. However, this might be partly due to the comparatively high prices for alcoholic drinks at Mexican festivals.
Ein weiteres Highlight war für mich die Rennstrecke selbst, die ich bisher nur aus dem TV von den Formel 1 Grand Prix kannte. Es war ein besonderes Gefühl an diesem berühmten Ort ein Festival zu erleben. Der zweite Abend hatte außerdem einen unglaublich schönen Sonnenuntergang zu bieten, wie ihr auf den Bildern sehen könnt. Was mich immer wieder erstaunt ist, wie wenig Alkohol in Mexiko getrunken wird und da machte auch das Vive Latino Festival keine Ausnahme. Festivals in Mexiko laufen sehr viel zivilisierter ab, als in Europa. Dies liegt zum Teil aber sicher auch an den vergleichsweise sehr hohen Preisen für alkoholische Getränke bei mexikanischen Festivals.
I really liked the Vive Latino Festival and I couldn't really criticize much. The area was large and the three stages with good sound quality were sufficiently far apart. There were enough sanitary facilities and they were very clean. The prices for food and non-alcoholic drinks were very reasonable and you could see the attention to detail with which the event was organized everywhere. We will be happy to attend again next year!
Mir gefiel das Vive Latino Festival wirklich sehr gut und ich könnte nicht wirklich viel kritisieren. Das Areal war groß und die drei Bühnen mit guter Sound-Qualität waren ausreichend weit voneinander entfernt. Sanitäre Anlagen gab es ausreichend und diese waren sehr sauber. Die Preise für Essen und alkoholfreie Getränke waren sehr günstig und man merkte überall die Liebe zum Detail, mit der das Event organisiert wurde. Wir sind nächstes Jahr gerne wieder dabei!
