A taste of Vietnamese food at Pho' Mien Tay

In my humble opinion, Vietnamese food is a cuisine that is slowly taking over the food scene in Singapore. It feels like every big shopping mall in every district will have at least one Vietnamese restaurant in it. There's a brand that is gaining popularity in shopping malls which I haven't tried dining in yet because it's a on the expensive side. Someday, I may feel the motivation to try to food and see for myself what makes it popular and beloved regardless of the price.

Last night, I tried a Vietnamese hawker food at the Old Airport Road food center and I think I had a glimpse on what makes this cuisine a crowd favorite.

I felt that the most remarkable feature of Vietnamese cuisine is the taste. It's so flavorsome that it's almost to the edge of what flavor and taste could have. The symphony of the flavors and taste are well balanced even though each of them are powerful.

The broth is clear but I could taste a punch after punch of flavor and taste. I can taste the savoriness of the soup, the crunchiness of the bean sprouts, the flavor of the pork, the slight flavor of the prawn, and the kick of the chili!

Also, I think that the presentation is a work of art. The colors and the arrangements of the ingredients look like it was painted on a canvas. Each of the element are positioned in such a way that it was planned or visualized.

I also think that the two quail eggs were a nice touch to the dish and the presentation as well.

I think I found a good option for an affordable Vietnamese food, I will come back to this place and try the other dishes. See you!

My journey to the world of food.
