Blog #2: Making myself HEALTHY a habbit!

    Hello Lifescapers fam!
    I felt so blessed and thankful to be here and share my journey!

    I was spoiled by my grandmother before with regards to what I want specially food and drinks. My grandmother owns a store so whatever I asked, she always gives me. Specific food would be the sweet ones like chocolates and unhealthy snacks. For vian, she always gives me one of my favorite canned goods which is pork & beans, the big one. I ate it alone and if my younger brother will ask, I send him t my grandmother for him to ask for another one. We felt so blessed and lucky for having a "lola" like her.
    My taste buds were like this until I grew up. I kept on drinking sodas, beer and other alcoholic drinks. I usually ate frozen foods and canned goods as I grew up. As a student before, we had no time to cook healthy foods. my parents weren't around to warn us about the bad effects of these kinds of food. I was already working and fimished my studies, I am still used to these kinds of food and drinks.

    I came to a point that, I felt something on my body which is unusual and unhealthy. I loose some weight not knowing that it was because of my high blood sugar. I got this because of sodas and sweet foods. I couldn't stop myself from drinking sodas and beer because it was my life style then. I kept loosing weight and started to discipline myself. I stopped drinking alcohol however I am still addicted with Cobra drinks which I am trying to overcome now in Christ.

    I had a check up and I had medication also however I couldn't stop myself from drinking sodas up to now. I can't imagine my weight went down from 85 kilos down to 60 kilos. A lot of my freinds got so worried. I stopped drinking cobra (an energy drink which has lots of calories of sugar) for weeks but when my blood sugar went down again, I was on the go in tasting and drinking cobra again.
    I'm really praying and hoping to stop it now!😭

    I realized that having healthy food at a young age will make a difference in the future as we aged. If we were used to eat healthy foods when we were young, I believe my taste buds won't be like this. I am starting to really stop this drink one step at a time.

    Let us try to be more wise in choosing what we put into our gut. For the younger ones and me let's make ourself healthy a habbit. Let's change our taste buds!
