Rising Star - I choose one song per day, Daily Rising Star statistics and giveaway of 150,000 starbits - Cinema Verite: Seru Giran

In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.

After I finished going through the hundred songs provided by Spotify that I listened to the most in the last year, I have thought of adding songs of my choice from my "Like" list that has more than 1000 songs. The last song I talked about in my last post was: Nuevos Trapos: Charly Garcia.

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Cinema Verite of the argentine group Seru Giran. Seru Giran is one of the best known Rock en Español bands in Latin America, any fan of Argentine Rock knows this legendary band.

During my childhood, I have listened to some of Seru Giran's songs such as “No llores por mi, Argentina”, “La grasa de las capitales” and “Peperina”. However, it wasn't until these last couple of years that the band really caught my attention. After becoming a fan of Charly García, I began to explore his most emblematic works both as a soloist and in groups like Sui Generis and Seru Giran. Thanks to this, I've been able to discover songs like Cinema Verite, Viernes 3.AM and Perro Andaluz.

Seru Giran was one of the first and most successful Argentine national rock bands. It was active between 1978 and 1982.

After the dissolution of the group “La Maquina de Hacer Pajaros”, Charly Garcia tried to form a new band, so he called guitarist David Lebón, bassist Pedro Aznar and drummer Oscar Moro.

Their first album, released in 1978, was not very well received by the Argentine public. To the point that they were booed at their first concert. However, they did not give up, so in 1979 they released their second album: La grasa de las capitales. With this album, they managed to win back the public and become one of the most beloved bands of the national rock.

Cinema Verite is part of the album “Peperina” released in 1981. It was one of the most famous albums of the group, consolidating them as one of the best bands of Rock en Español.
