🦉 The black-headed gull (Chroicocephalus ridibundus)

    • Chroicocephalus Greek: khroizō to paint, kephalē head
    • ridibundus lat .: ridēre laugh, ridibundus laughing

In my city, these birds can be seen near the large city river, and then in small numbers, unlike herring gulls. And in the city where my relatives live, in the neighboring region, these birds became synanthropes. That is, city residents. They can always be seen in yards and near garbage bins, where they rob pigeons.

But I took these pictures outside the city, where there are flooded meadows and steppe. There they fly over the water and catch fish, or occupy small islands of land in the middle of the water and rest.
