What I see: a long line of bikes, scooters, and accessories parked at the Media Market -- the inside sign reads, "Open for you, 24 hours online at www.mediamarkt.ch" -- and I'm guessing brand names are on the outside signs where I also see the indication of where to park the bikes and scooters.

What I feel: "There must be a big sale ... but then I've been to the website ... how exactly are people going to get media appliances home on a bike or scooter? But then again, this also tells me how different Germany is than the United States, but in some ways, not from me, living a non-car lifestyle.

Well, like it says on the old movie, I definitely was not in Kansas any more.
This was the expression of a culture that refuses to center cars even when buying considerable electronics.
Ah – somebody was making a big purchase and brought their bike-ready baby carriage!
    German ingenuity at work!
