That particular day of the week I always look forward to.

    Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. Each and every one of us has that day off of the week we all look forward to. For some, it is Friday because the weekend starts with it and they get to rest a little; for others, it is Sunday. I strongly doubt if there is anyone out there who will ever choose Monday as their favorite day of the week. Monday is that day of the week many of us fear, especially when school is in session. Once it is Sunday, you start thinking about how to face Monday. Once you are able to face Monday after a relaxing weekend, then you are good to go. Monday is always the problem.

I don't know if it is just me, but Monday is a day of the week I wish could be scrapped. Most times, it is the most stressful day of the week for me, as workloads that were left unattended over the weekend are attended to on Mondays. Truth be told, Monday scares me both in school and at home, where I am working. The workload that comes with Monday can leave your back aching like you went to a farm. Mondays are super stressful, and anyone whose favorite day of the week is Monday needs to be interrogated.

Currently, my favorite day of the week is Sunday. My favorite day of the week totally depends on where I am and the activities that come with the particular day. I would have said Saturday if I was in school, but Saturdays in my house are for clean-ups. I was born and raised in a Christian home, so my mom takes the saying keep the Sabbath day holy very seriously. No matter how busy your weekdays might be, in my house you don't get to rest on Saturday; they will keep calling on you to tell you how you should wash the car, do this, and do that.

On Saturday, I keep hearing the words of Thomas Shelby in my head. He said, "There is no rest for me in this world, perhaps in the next." That is how busy and exhausting Saturdays are at home. Nobody wants to know how tired you are from the week's work; you must be present for Saturday clean up, while on Sundays you just get to do your normal chores and no one calls or disturbs you for any unplanned chores, so mostly after a stressful week you only get to rest on Sunday.

In my house, if you want special treatment, wait for Sundays, not even your birthday, as the treatment we get on Sundays cannot be compared to what we get on our birthdays. You get to eat the way you like since you are at home, unlike work days where you only get to eat dinner and on some days breakfast and dinner only. Sundays are like free days; you can go out and stay out for a long without them asking questions. So, definitely, Sundays in my house are the true definition of free as a bird.

Those days when I was not working, I went out on Sundays and hung out with a few friends, but since I started working now, I rest on Sundays. I rest while I prepare for the new week as well as the most scary day of the week (Monday), and the fact that I get to rest the way I want on Sundays makes it my favorite day of the week. I get to eat well too, unlike work days where you only eat snacks until you get home for dinner.
