Being a teacher is not an easy task at all. You have to have patience, tolerance, and the spirit of endurance.
I was once a teacher, and I can tell you, guys, for free, it is a tough job. It will test everything about you. Student performing poorly in their academy is not entirely the teacher's fault, yes.
Learning should start at home; most parents fail in this aspect. They believe they pay the teachers, so why should they assist the teachers in doing their job?
Forgetting that a child is a product of what he or she learns at home, not just in school. As for teachers, they should be more professional in their jobs. We have so many unprofessional teachers these days in the educational sector.
Some reasons why students perform poorly are the teacher's Ineffective teaching methods and Insufficient support or resources, which many both in the primary and tertiary levels lack.
Poor communication with students and parents: some teachers will choose to ignore the students instead of letting the parents see that their child is not doing well.
Teachers should derive different styles when it comes to teaching; when I was a teacher, I had a pupil named Purity, and one was Tammy.
These two were what people call dullards. No matter the style or the approach you use in teaching them. It won't work, it is like you are pouring water on a stone. I tried everything but it was just not entering.
So I had to go online to study the different methods to teach kids of that age; I was teaching at that time and the best way to make them remember whatever I taught. It wasn't easy, but I have to cause having two or four kids in your class that are extremely dull is disturbing; it makes you look incompetent.
At first, it was as if it wasn't working, but as time went on, it started working on three, but the last one wasn't. So I decided to visit their home, that's when I saw the problem. She was playing so seriously that you won't believe she was a quiet child in school.
Now, this girl was always coming back to school with her homework undone. I will ask her; she will say she didn't understand, and I will ask her what of your parents and sister, and she will say that they refused to help her.
That day, I went to her house to find out why they wouldn't help her out and always allow her to come back with her assignment. I asked her mother, and she said that she would cry and that she was tired, and sometimes her sister would refuse to do it for her.
I told the mom, so you can't force her or spank her to do her homework, and she told me that she would cry and start disturbing the whole environment, so she would leave it; Aunty, I should leave her. She will learn with time.
Most parent's fault is their Limited involvement and support, Not making the home environment conducive for learning (e.g., distractions, lack of structure), failure to address underlying issues (e.g., learning difficulties, emotional struggles)
Even pupils have their faults: their lack of effort or motivation, Poor time management, inadequate study habits or skills, Distractions or lack of focus, and failure to seek help when the need arises.
So the poor performance of any student is not just the teacher's fault but the parent's and student's.
