Let's go today with the 9th day of Zingtober!
The word is: Sun. I don't know why, but it just came to my mind: Beach, haha. So I decided to make an illustration of the Ocean Healer wearing a bikini top and some "very sexy" short shorts... hehe. On top of that, I've placed a glass of amazing soda from the brand "Holozing", hence the Z. What do you think?
One of the things that I thought about the most was the sea. I really didn't know how the sea should look like in Monochrome. So I opted for a clear and calm water. My Ocean Healer wears a spectacular beach hat, decorated with a bow in the center inspired by the sea. It is unusual for me to make this type of illustrations, but I really liked the result and the simplicity of the shapes. I opted to implement more of a manual mesh, and in some parts, toned down shadows with the blurry brush.
Let's quickly see Drawing process:
The resources I used for this illustration are: tablet, digitizer pen and Medibang Paint in free version. I started with a normal sketch, to clarify the general shapes. Then I moved on to a more uniform outline and cleaned up at the same time with the eraser. I took advantage of changing some line thicknesses in areas that I like to highlight, this to give more movement to the illustration and not be so boring. Initially I wanted to make some glasses in the hand, but then I opted for a glass of soda. I added details and some lines. Today I experimented with some finishes with a different brush, called a 6B mechanical pencil, I thought it gave it a nice look, I used it especially on the shorts.
For this illustration I have incorporated brushes such as: Smooth round pen at various thicknesses, airbrush, blur, shine 2, water drop. Some default tools such as lines, circles, as well as Gaussian effect.
