Currently known as Ecoparque BA and located in Buenos Aires in the neighborhood of Palermo, it has about 18 hectares, a very important verte space in the city. From what I was reading there are currently about 1500 animals from the old zoo, yes indeed, before this space was a zoo, but as they are not in good condition it was decided to move exotic animals that were not in good living conditions and the remaining animals to release them into the space so they can have a better life.
Actualmente conocido como Ecoparque BA y situado en Buenos Aires en el barrio de Palermo cuenta con unas 18 hectáreas un espacio verte muy importante dentro de la ciudad. Por lo que estuve leyendo actualmente hay unos 1500 animales del antiguo zoológico, si efectivamente, antes este espacio era un zoológico, pero al no están en buenas condiciones se decidió trasladar animales exóticos que no estaban en buenas condiciones de vida y los animales restantes liberarlos dentro del espacio para que puedan tener una mejor vida.
A very peculiar animal that always catches my attention when I go there are the Maras, a large rodent, visually they are very similar to rabbits, although larger and with very long legs, these animals evolved to run at high speeds to escape from dangers, it is fun to watch them run and in general they are not afraid of visitors. These beautiful little animals can weigh between 8 and 16 kilos and with luck you can sometimes see very tender pups.
Un animalito muy peculiar y que siempre me llama la atención cuando voy son las Maras un roedor grande, visualmente son muy similares a los conejos, aunque más grandes y con piernas muy largas, estos animales evolucionaron para correr a altas velocidades logrando así escapar de peligros, es muy divertido verlas correr y en general no les tienen miedo a los visitantes. Estos hermosos animalitos pueden pesar entre 8 y 16 kilos y con suerte a veces se pueden observar crías muy tiernas.

Formerly these lands belonged to Juan Manuel de Rosas, he was a rancher, military and political Argentinean later his lands were used by Domingo Sarmiento for the creation of the 3 de febrero Park, there were organized different places like the botanical, the zoo and the forests of Palermo. In its time the zoo was very important, but after complaints of animal abuse and evidence, the ecopark project was started.
Antiguamente estas tierras le pertenecieron a Juan Manuel de Rosas, el fue un estanciero, militar y político argentino posteriormente sus tierras fueron utilizadas por Domingo Sarmiento para la creación del Parque 3 de febrero, allí se fueron organizando diferentes lugares como el botánico, el zoológico y los bosques de Palermo. En su tiempo el zoológico fue muy importante, pero tras quejas de maltrato animal y evidencia se comenzó el proyecto del ecoparque.
