Why do we sometimes feel we are far from God? (Part 1 of 2) | The Old Path

Bible readings: Acts 17:25-26 Job 37:7, John 2:24, Psalms 103:14

One of the attributes we identify God with is Omnipresent, meaning that He is everywhere at any given time. Unknown to some people, God actually makes Himself available to everyone. God is not that distant from us like we think. He is actually a lot closer to us than we think.

    Acts 17:25-26
25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.
26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.

God is fully aware of our actions because He dwells among us. He knows everything that goes on in our lives. He's aware of the thoughts that fly around our minds. God would not possess all this knowledge if He were far away from us, like most people think.

Every product consists of a trademark. A trademark is like a symbol that is imprinted on a product by the manufacturer. We also, being creatures of God, possess our own trademark, a seal, which was issued by our manufacturer (Creator), which is God.

In the book of John 2:24, we are acknowledged of the fact that God knows all men. To know someone, you have to establish a level of closeness with that person. You can't know someone that you are far away from.

No one understands us better than God. As astonishing as it sounds, God actually knows us even better than we know ourselves because He was the one who made us. He knows our emotions, passions, and everything related to us.

    Psalms 103:14
for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.

Who can know a product better than its manufacturer? The answer is no one. From the day of our birth up until now, God has kept a very close range on each and every one of us. He has never for a day distanced Himself from us.

However, God can be very close to us but at the same time seem far from us. Our way of life and our attitude towards God could make it seem as though God is far away from us. It's like being in the room with someone and aware of his presence because you refuse to give him or her attention.

That's the same way we are often unaware of God's presence. God is always with us and also speaking to us, but due to distractions from our environment and other factors, we don't know He's dwelling with us.

So in case we feel God is far away from us, we should consider some of these factors because they could play a major role in making it look like God is absent from us.
