🦉 The Siberian stonechat or Asian stonechat (Saxicola maurus)

    • Saxicola (lat ): saxum rock, stone, -cola inhabitant
    • maurus (lat.): Moorish, black

Now these birds are working hard and building a nest. As a rule, the nest is built by the female, collecting building material which consists of dry blades of grass, stems, moss, roots, and the nest is located in a depression in the ground under bushes. Meanwhile, the male sits on the top of the grass, thicket or bush, and monitors the territory and guards the female.

The habitats of these birds are open spaces, such as meadows or clearings, lawns in the forest. And thanks to this, these birds are very convenient for photographing and observing them. Moreover, you can get closer to them and they will not fly away, unless, of course, you are careful and quiet.
