ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #105: How Do You Beat The Heat? + New PC <3

in voilk •  3 months ago

I was supposed to write an entry about my activities yesterday, but then I saw this week's ASEAN Hive Community Challenge, so I decided to make my initial post as part of my entry. The topic for the challenge this week is How do you beat the heat?

This is such a relevant question especially in the Philippines and perhaps other Southeast Asian countries nowadays. It has been hot the past weeks, well, months even and I'm missing rain so much. However, I still appreciate the fine weather.

Yesterday, papa and I had to go out because I wanted to get a new CPU for my PC. I've had my old one since 2015 (as I checked in the BIOS yesterday) and it hasn't been that helpful in my job anymore with all the lagging and stuff.

We didn't have money, but luckily, papa had a product loan offer, so I grabbed the chance to use it. My PC is an investment since it's my everyday partner for both my main job and blogging.

It sure was a fine day, but there were no clouds in the sky. It still looks really beautiful, though. This was after lunch and the temperature was around 32 degrees Celsius, but the heat index surpasses that by at least 3-5 degrees more.

We had to take cover in this building while waiting for our transport. Luckily, we didn't have to wait that long, so we could go to our destination.

Whenever papa and I go out during the daytime, we usually wear caps and long-sleeved shirts. The fabric is thin and comfortable, so it's not hot. The long-sleeves are for protection against the heat of the sun. Yes, we don't use umbrella because I'm lazy... xD I prefer caps + long-sleeved comfortable shirt.

It's the new CPU the staff is assembling for me. He's also installing the OS and some important software programs in advanced so I need not worry about those at home. All I had to do is to transfer my hard drive from the old CPU to the new one for extra storage. Good thing I'm interested in tinkering computer parts as well, so it's not that much of a hassle for me. My male bestie used to teach me stuff as well in case he's not available to help me. :)

The shop's AC was on, so it was very comfortable. I guess the AC is our best friend during this time of heat, but the problem would be during our transport home.

I told mama that it's too hot outside, and I want something to cool down. So, she prepared something for papa and I. It's this one...

She used a couple lemons, one cucumber, five tablespoons of brown sugar and two spoonful of honey. She also added lots of ice cubes. It was amazingly refreshing!!! There are some left in the fridge, so the ingredients can actually go far. <3 We just have to add more water and if you prefer sweet, more sugar or honey.

I also ate some ice cream yesterday and this is my leftover. I had to eat it for dessert after lunch today. This particular ice cream is so refreshing especially because of its flavor and it's quite light.

Now, I can chill... including in my job since my PC functions much better and faster. I wouldn't have to worry much about lags and sudden shutdowns.

It's so much faster and smoother to use. I even tried playing MLBB on my PC last night to test it and it's as smooth as I'm playing using my mobile. I'm just not used to playing using PC, though. I haven't played online PC games since I stopped during my university days. haha

Ohh well, I hope you all have a good day! My break time's almost over, so I have to prepare for my afternoon classes! See you around and keep yourself hydrated! Take care! (^^,)/
