YouTube is not just entertainment. You might learn something as well. But you have to know where to look.
Ii just watched a 12 minute YouTube video by popular Physics icon Sabine Hossenfelder. Popular? Have you never heard of her? Well some people apparently have. She has 1.5 Million subscribers!
Today's video dropped 11 hours ago and has 365K views and over 2350 comments. Someone iis watching and someone is commenting. YouTube is not all memes and music.
In this video you will come to know Sabine's thoughts on Steven Wolfram and his computational theory of everything. It first appears that she is skeptical but the title of her video is her conclusion by its end.
I tend to agree. My engineering college career gave me knowledge of physics and quantum physics. But my career is in programming and computation. I know about cellular automata and have used some of its principles in some of my work.
Wolfram's large book from over a decade ago is called A New Kind Of Science and is based on CA. I bought it and read it when it first came out. I'm glad to see work contine by Wolfram and others to follow where it leads. It was nice to see this overall positive assessment in my opinion from Sabine.
