🦉 The willow tit (Poecile montanus)

    • Poecile poikilis (Greek) an unidentified small bird mentioned in ancient texts
    • montanus (lat .) : mōns, montis mountain, mountain range, montanus mountain

This is a nimble and energetic tit. They have hoarse calls, but a beautiful whistling melancholic song, and other interesting sounds. The bird is practically not afraid of people, can visit feeders in city courtyards in winter. And in general, it can settle in city parks where there are many people.

It is also friendly towards other birds, with which it comes into contact in a mixed bird flock in autumn and winter. It feeds the same way as all other birds of this family, on insects, plant seeds and nuts.
