One morning, my friend suddenly messaged me saying we were going out, but the timing was bad because I didn’t have any money at the time. However, she replied that they would take care of everything, along with our other friends. So, we started getting ready to leave early. Around 12 PM, they picked me up from my house, and we left without me knowing where they were taking me, as long as we were going to have fun.
FIRST DESTINATION??!! YES, YOU'RE RIGHT, OUR LADY OF MANAOAG, ST. BENEDICT'S MONASTERY, CARMEN, CEBU.
During our trip, they decided to go to Our Lady of Manaoag in Corte, Carmen, Cebu, where we could see the large statue of the Virgin Mary and Sr. Sto. Niño. Besides the spiritual peace, the monastery offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. If you’re looking for solace and a place for reflection, this is the perfect place to visit. We lit candles in front of the Sto. Niño statue, wandered around for a bit, and then decided to head to Santican, Carmen, Cebu.
As we left Manaoag, we stopped by a store to buy some water and rested for a while because it was really hot at that time, around 2 PM. We were talking about our lives since it had been a while since we last had some bonding time. After a bit, we decided to leave and head to our next destination.
NEXT SPOT??!!!
We took a break because my legs were really sore, and we also wanted to take pictures because the view was so beautiful. The air was so fresh here, and the view was amazing. My suggestion is to take the route through Carmen going to Santican. There are two routes: one through Danao City and one through Carmen. Aside from the beautiful view, taking the route through Carmen is closer compared to Danao.
We finally arrived, and it was really hot. Luckily, there was a store there where we could take shelter and buy food since we were hungry from the trip. Santican is a wonderful place to visit, especially for nature lovers, because the view is breathtaking, and the people there are very kind.
This trip with my friends was a much-needed escape from the stresses of daily life. It was a reminder of the importance of taking time to relax, recharge, and reconnect with the people who matter most. From the peaceful atmosphere of Our Lady of Manaoag to the stunning views in Santican, Carmen, every moment was filled with beauty and joy. Not only did we get to enjoy nature, but we also deepened our bond as friends, making memories that will last a lifetime. Sometimes, all it takes is a simple getaway to remind us of the things that truly matter.
