NFL Week 15 Recap: Same Old Lions...

I think it's safe to say that the state of Michigan has been dreading this past weekend for a while now. While we have become quite accustomed to the Lions imploding in games where they should easily win, we also know that in important games they also tend to choke.

I can't even blame the officials for this one. Detroit absolutely got outplayed. They didn't help themselves with stupid penalties and other sloppy play. The fact is, Buffalo is just so dang good. Their record may not reflect it, but they have been building towards a dynasty team for a while now.

Don't get me wrong, I think Detroit is as well, but I honestly put the Lions two to three years behind where the Bills are right now. That's just my opinion of course.

Obviously, the injuries on the Lions didn't help them at all. In addition to that, moving forward they have even more injuries to deal with now. With Montgomery out for the rest of the season it sounds like, that takes away one of their major weapons.

I hope this loss serves as a wake up call to the Lions and they can actually learn and apply lessons from the game this past weekend.

The Rams beat San Francisco on Thursday night in a miserable 12 to 6 showing for both teams. I guess at the very least their defense showed up to the game. Kansas City had a 21 to 7 win over Cleveland, but the more important news in that one is that Mahomes injured his ankle and according to something @mrsbozz saw the other night he has to have surgery which could put him out for the regular season if not the whole season.

It makes you wonder if the officials are still going to keep handing games to the Chiefs with Mahomes on the sideline. I have to be honest, Wentz wasn't looking too bad in the fourth quarter on Sunday.

Cincinnati beat Tennessee 37 to 27, Washington beat New Orleans 20 to 19, and Baltimore beat down New York (Giants) 35 to 14.

Dallas had a surprising win against Carolina 30 to 14, especially since the Panthers have found themselves on an upward trajectory finally before this past weekend.

The Jets beat the Jaguars 32 to 25, Houston bested Miami 20 to 12, and Denver took a page from the Army/Navy game beating Indianapolis 31 to 13.

As I said earlier, Buffalo beat Detroit 48 to 42. Allen is just a beast. There is no other way to describe it. If Goff could be consistent like him we could basically walk to the Super Bowl.

Philly beat Pittsburgh 27 to 13, Arizona took down New England 30 to 17, and Tampa Bay beat the Chargers 40 to 17.

Finally, Green Bay beat Seattle 30 to 13, Minnesota handed Chicago another loss 30 to 12, and Atlanta squeaked past the Raiders 15 to 9. Looking at the box score, that was a pretty messy game that last one.

The Green Bay and Minnesota win puts the Lions is a more precarious position but luckily they can't be knocked out of the playoffs. They just need to turn it up for the rest of the season.
