The act of kindness

Kindness is an extraordinary act performed by someone, I call it extraordinary because it isn't easy for someone to look at you and find you worthy of helping, kind acts shouldn't be taken for granted, the sweet part is often we don't help those who have helped us we reciprocate the help by showing it to someone else.

Kindness is simply the act of going out of your way to help others without expecting anything in return " I used to expect something in return hehe!!" But the good news is that I've changed, a single show of kindness has a genuine impact on the giver and the receiver but then the scripture says "Givers never lack" How about the receivers I'm waiting for your response.

Some years back, I was still a teenager then, so my sister and I decided to go visit our favorite aunty who lived in the same town we were based but the distance was an hour's drive from our end, "important note don't visit people unannounced"

We'd been anticipating this visit for a very long time, so one faithful day we decided we would go there, my sister and I went to bathe and wore our favorite clothes, so we asked our mum for transportation fare she gave us money that would be able to take us there and bring us back home just in case my aunt wasn't in the house.

So we entered the road, and on our way, we decided to buy some snacks, cause when you visit your aunt she will give transport money back home right, this mindset stuck inside our head to the point we ate part of the money that was given to us. When we got to the house unfortunately our aunt wasn't around not just that she had even travelled. At that moment my sister and I paused for a while and were now thinking of the way forward cause they say once one door closes another door opens, but then the other door took a long time to open.

We thought someone would just look at us and give us money but it didn't work like that, my sister insisted we ask money from anyone who walked past us that one might be able to help us, now thats a big task cause we weren't trained that way so it was difficult for us. Since we couldn't ask for help from anyone the only solution that would take us to the house was to trek but then the distance wasn't trekkable so we just stood at the junction hoping for help to fall from heaven, so my sister came up with an idea for us to stop any bus and tell the driver our story, so the first bus came we told the driver we weren't having money the driver zoomed off, the second one came and we told him the same thing luckily a lady inside asked us to enter that she was going to pay it for us.

That was how a stranger helped my sister and me get home safely, reminiscing back I realized that good people still exist on the face of the earth, I've reciprocated this act on several occasions but I'm gonna talk about the particular one that was relatable, there was a day I had just closed from work and boarded a vehicle, on our way a young boy stopped the vehicle and was telling the driver to assist him cause he didn't have money to pay, in the process of the driver throwing abusive words at the boy I just asked him to enter the vehicle that I was gonna pay for him, they say one good act deserves another right, well that is it.
