It's about Megalobox, I saw it some time ago, when it was broadcast and I remember that it left me with mixed feelings. It was an entertaining, and visually satisfying experience. From the first episode, you can tell that this series is not typical, the premise is very powerful. We meet a street boxer, who participates in some clandestine fights where he is paid to lose, that is, he loses on purpose. However, everything changes when he crosses paths with the sport's champion, and decides to face him on the world's biggest stage! Visually, I find this anime incredible, the animation has a retro style that is very reminiscent of 90s anime, but it also has a modern touch that makes it super unique.

The different character designs are striking and have a lot of personality, in addition, each combat is very well choreographed, and making the viewer feel super glued watching it. They also use a very intelligent combination of traditional 2D animation with CGI elements, which gives a great touch. The semi-urban settings, although they are somewhat typical... are full of details that reflect the rawness of this world in which these characters live. All this accompanied by an incredible soundtrack, with some hip hop songs that fits perfectly into the tone of the series, and contributes a lot to the rhythm of the episodes.

Se trata de Megalobox, yo lo ví hace algún tiempo, cuando estaba en emisión y recuerdo que me dejó sentimientos encontrados. Fue una experiencia entretenida, y visualmente satisfactoria. Desde el primer episodio, se puede notar que esta serie no es típica, la premisa es muy potente.. Conocemos a un boxeador de calle, que participa en unas peleas clandestinas donde se le paga para perder, es decir, que pierde a propósito.. Sin embargo, todo cambia cuando se cruza con el campeón del deporte, y decide enfrentarse a él en el escenario más grande del mundo! Visualmente, este anime me parece increíble, la animación tiene un estilo retro que recuerda mucho a los animes de los 90, pero también tiene un toque moderno que lo hace super único.

Los diferentes diseños de personajes son llamativos y tienen mucha personalidad, además, cada combate está muy bien coreografiado, hace que el espectador se sienta super pegado viéndolo.. También usan muy inteligente combinación de animación tradicional en 2D con elementos de CGI, que le da un toque genial. Los escenarios así medio urbanos, aunque son algo típicos.. están llenos de detalles que reflejan la crudeza de este mundo en el que viven estos personajes. Todo esto acompañado de una increíble banda sonora, con algunos temas de hip hop que encajan perfectamente en el tono de la serie, y aporta mucho al ritmo de los episodios.

This decision not only adds elements of risk and excitement, but also serves as a metaphor for an individual's fight against the system, something that resonates very well in the story. Character development is another strong point in this series, it is easy to empathize with Joe.

His journey from an underground fighter to a serious contender is inspiring, he is presented with many challenges that make him grow. His coach, Nanbu, also has an interesting arc, going from being a grump to someone super important to Joe's team, and it is clear that he genuinely cares about him. The antagonists, although some are empty and stereotyped, continue to provide the necessary level of challenge and conflict to the story, in addition the final challenge of the champion is something that motivates a lot to continue watching the series, and I also found this character interesting, he has his own problems and nuances.

Esta decisión no solo añade elementos de riesgo y emoción, sino que también sirve como una metáfora de la lucha de un individuo contra el sistema, algo que resuena de manera muy bien en la historia. El desarrollo de personajes es otro punto fuerte en esta serie, es fácil empatizar con Joe.

Su viaje de un luchador clandestino a un contendiente serio, es inspirador, se le presentan muchos retos que lo hacen crecer. The end of the first season may cause discontent in some, I have seen that some people liked it and others did not, I personally did not find it bad... perhaps that feeling of feeling that the series fell short is due to expectations that were created, and the comparisons that came out with other boxing animes. La primera temporada de esta serie tiene un total de 13 episodios, y se siente un poco apresurada en algunas ocasiones, imagino que intentaron abarcar mucho y reducirlo lo más que pudieron, para adaptarse al número de episodios. Algunos momentos cruciales no tuvieron suficiente tiempo para generar mucho mayor impacto, esto fuera mejorado aún más la experiencia. El final de la primera temporada puede causar descontento en algunos, he visto que a unas personas les gusto y a otros no, a mí personalmente no me pareció malo.. Puede que esa sensación de que la serie se quedó corta se debe a las expectativas que se crearon, y a las comparativas que salieron con otros animes de boxeo. Supongo que depende que cada uno mirar esta serie y sacar sus propias conclusiones.

Megalobox is a series that I would recommend, its visual style and soundtrack are exceptional, and the story they present to us is interesting, seeing a "street dog" fight against all odds and conflicts, to always try to reach the top. It's entertaining to watch. The direction is very good, especially in the combats or emotional moments. It fits well in the sports anime category, but it has its dramatic doses, it has a lot of heart and aesthetics, without a doubt that makes it stand out a lot.

Although it is not perfect, if you are a fan of boxing, or fighting sports, or stories of overcoming... you will undoubtedly enjoy watching this anime. I give it a rating of... 8.5/10. It is a series that has a lot to offer, although my favorite season is the first, the second also has excellent moments that will surely excite more than one. Megalobox es una serie que si recomendaría, su estilo visual y su banda sonora son excepcionales, y la historia que nos presentan es interesante, ver a un "perro callejero" luchar contra todas las probabilidades y conflictos, para intentar llegar a lo más alto siempre es entretenido de ver. La dirección es muy buena, especialmente en los combates o momentos emotivos.. Encaja bien en la categoría de anime de deportes, pero tiene sus dosis dramáticas, tiene mucho corazón y estética, sin duda eso lo hace destacar mucho.

Si bien no es perfecto, si eres fan del boxeo, o de los deportes de lucha, de las historias de superación.. sin duda disfrutarás mucho viendo este anime. Yo le doy una calificación de.. 8.5/10. Es una serie que tiene mucho que ofrecer, aunque mi temporada favorita es la primera, la segunda también tiene excelentes momentos que seguro emocionarán a más de uno.
