TOPIC: SHINE YOUR EYES TO KNOW THE HOPE OF YOUR CALLING
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints (Ephesians 1:18).
FOOD FOR THOUGHT ON THIS VERSE
This verse is an encouragement to everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Let your comprehension be enlightened so that you may grasp the hope of His calling and the abundance of His inheritance among the saints (Ephesians 1:18).
May you also be imbued with knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, to walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in knowledge of God (Colossians 1:9-10).
May you persistently seek wisdom and understanding from God to live a purposeful and fulfilling life. Let your actions be guided by His will, finding joy in service rendered to Him through every good work. As you grow closer to God, may your love for Him deepen while strengthening your faith.
Remember always to walk worthy of the Lord as well as pleasing Him entirely.
May you trust wholeheartedly on the Lord without leaning on one's own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). Allow His wisdom to direct each decision you made while having courage following his path even when it seems difficult.
Recall that He has planned our lives accordingly; hence we must remember that "His ways are higher than ours" (Isaiah 55:9). Keep seeking Him daily through prayers or reading His word so that one can experience true closeness with Him.
Be a shining light reflecting Christ's hope and love towards others around us through speech or action (1 Peter 3:15), demonstrating grace alongside mercy at all times.
We should show compassion plus kindness towards everyone we meet since loving one another is what he has called us all into doing just like he loved us too (John 13:34), let us continue growing together encouraging ourselves along this journey called life.
Forgive people who wronged us just like how Christ forgave them too (Colossians 3:13), letting go any resentment or anger harboured inside our hearts, instead fill it up with love coupled with compassion towards those who have done evil against us ( Luke23 :34).
Strive to live humbly putting others first before oneself (Philippians 2 :3), without seeking self-glory but rather serving Jesus' name which was why He came here not expecting anything back (Mark10 :45).
Use gifts or talents given you for the building up of His kingdom alone to bring honour and glory only unto Him.
Lastly, look forward expectantly until when Jesus comes again making everything new (Revelation 21 :5); keep your eyes fixed upon Him trusting solely on His promises made, then living each day purposefully and meaningfully, continuing growth within faith, hope, and love until we see Him face-to-face someday very soon!
With our hearts, we can see heaven.. When we are feeling down, doubtful, or discouraged, our hearts need to be "enlightened." In our darkness, the dawn needs to come, and when it does, we see hope and the wealth that is ours. But when things look bad, sometimes the only way to remember these things is to sing them, pray them, or read God's promises about them.
MY PRAYER TODAY
You are my hope, God. I believe in you and what you say. But I have to say that sometimes, like right now, it's hard for me to believe that you will answer my prayers and do what I've asked you to do with my life. Please fill me with your Spirit, calm my fears, and light my fire so I can serve you with courage and share your grace with others. In Jesus Christ's precious name I pray, Amen.
