    MCGI MASS INDOCTRINATION|31ST OCTOBER, 2024

    Bible references: John 9:31, Proverbs 15:8, Matthew 6:7-8, Isaiah 65:24, Ecclesiastes 5:1-2, Matthew 6:5, Romans 12:9

God bless brother Eli and brother Daniel for bringing another amazing session in the mass indoctrination series our way. It's very important that in every Christian gathering we find ourselves, we should ensure that the doctrines been taught coincides with the teachings of Christ. And thank God for a preacher like brother Eli who never fails to give us the raw truth in God's word.

Today, we look at a very fascinating topic, titled, "How to call upon the lord." At certain points in our lives, we are confronted with challenges that leave us crying for help. There is no one on earth that does not need help or is above it. We all need help. In such trying times, the best choice we have is to call upon God.

God always listens to prayers. But it is important to note that not all prayers are received by God.

Proverbs 15:8 - The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

Our prayers can also be considered to be forms of sacrifices to God. God is selective of this sacrifices. Just like the way God rejected the sacrifice of Cain in the bible and accepted that of his brother, Abel, that's the same way God accepts the prayers of some and rejects the prayers of some. God listens to the prayers that are made by those who are His.

Our prayer is a personal interaction with God. We don't pray to show off. We should not be interested with what other people when we pray, that's not how prayer should be. The book of Matthew 6:5 refers to people who make such prayers as hypocrites. The corresponding verse gives us the right manner to pray.

We pray for God to see us and not man. Prayer is a discussion between we and God. We don't pray with the intention of impressing anyone.
