Splinterlands - The suspense is intensified by it's a bug vs it's a feature glitch

All of us involved in the software developed heard at least once the it's a bug versus it's a feature debate. That usually takes place when an issue is found in an application for which there might not be clear requirements or written expected behavior. This leaves place for interpretation where software testers will say that it is a bug, while the developers will say that it's a feature. And while playing Splinterlands and thinking about that I think I have found a glitch which could revive this debate. The glitch happens when presenting the Battle Results and where the rendering of whom won the battle takes a little bit longer while the user interface already displayed the containers for that information (but empty).

    Battle results glitch

As you can see in the Battle results, there is a glitch as the information about who Won and who was Defeated is not rendered yet in the page. This adds a little bit more suspense as you can be in either boxes. The thrill continues until the information gets put in the page.

The information gets finally pushed to the containers from the User interface and this time I was on the losing side. The hope got me waiting until the last second, but it seems this time I lost the battle.

    Feedback on the game features

My opinion on this is that it is a bug. The User interface should render the Battle results page when it has all the information ready to present it. While I found this fun in the beginning, when I am skipping battled due to some constraint or other reasons and when I get to Battle results I want to see the final information without any doubts on it. Thus rather than saying that this is a feature, I believe it should be fixed by the Splinterlands developers.

Improving the user interface is the path towards people staying more in the game which is beneficial for the Splinterlands ecosystem. Hopefully somebody will read this and maybe add it to the backlog. It is not a big issue but repeatedly it becomes annoying. It is for me and I guess it is for other players as well. I like giving such feedback considering that I am a software tester at core and I encourage others to do the same. Why? Because this way we can help improve the game and make it more enjoyable and stable.
