Had a delicious staff meal cooked by my Sous the other day. She made Ayam padprik and fried tempe.
That meal hit all the right notes—spicy, savory, and full of umami. Ayam Padprik, a Thai-Malaysian stir-fry, was packed with tender chicken, crunchy vegetables, and a rich, fragrant sauce that had just the right balance of heat and sweetness. The addition of kaffir lime leaves and Thai basil took it to another level, giving it that fresh, citrusy aroma that lingers in the best way.
On the side, she served fried tempeh, crispy on the outside yet still retaining that nutty, earthy flavor inside. A simple dish, but when done right, it’s incredibly satisfying. The deep-fried crunch, paired with sambal, made it impossible to stop eating.
