SO yesterday a friend of mine got scammed right before my very eyes, when it started i warned him about it, but his reply to me was everything in life is about risk, which is obviously true, so I didn't argue with him may be this could be his lucky chance, so I wouldn't want to be the one on his way, but I earnest opinion to that was I don't trust this people.
That was his first time tho, I knew something wasn't right but he has told me his mind, I was just waiting for the time bomb to explode, so he is someone who is constantly on facebook watching videos and reels most of the time, so he bumped into this lottery show, according to him he has been following the show for a while now and he was convinced that its was legit.
Onething is scammers usually will use genuine avenue created by honest sincere people to defraud others, there's is lottery show anchored by Peter Okoye, one of the Psquare twin brother, which i know of, but i'm not really a fan of anything luck i prefer i work real hard for what is mine and get what's due me, so i haven't really paid attention to the show despite seeing how others been wining millions.
My friend told me that this Peter Okoye has been calling him on video call on whatsap and it's really him, i asked him again are you sure its Peter Okoye, like peter of Psquare you know him? He said yes, i said okay, maybe its your luck.
At first the scammers told him he needs to send 10k to be able to qualify for the draws, at that time he said he had only 2k with him, still the scammer said okay he should send it, right there i knew something was wrong, cause in lottery you need a specific amount to be eligible.
An account number was provided and he sent the money, like few minutes later he got up excited and showed me the congratulatory message he got that he has won 250,000 naira, that to claim the money he needs to make an initial deposit of 19,900 to the account already sent to him, my guy was just so excited and hurriedly put a call through to anyone that can borrow him 20k promising to payback immediately, he got it and send the money.
Like what took like 2-3 minutes he was calm, saying it slowly as if there was no life in his body, it was at that point i realise that he must have been scammed.
He showed me the message that they sent to him, asking him to pay up another 19,900 to verify some protocols, almost immediately the man called him like he needs to hasten up and send the money before the timer runs out, even tho he pleaded that he does not have any money, infact he borrowed the one he just sent, the man kept on presurring him to look for money or he will loose the lucky chance.
My guy was weak to his bone, devasted, confused and lost in thoughts, i was just there to console him, its gone otilor theres nothing he can do now, trying to come up with all manner of ways to catch this scammers, i just laughed and told him all this jas already been planned out, these guys are smart enough to have gone ahead of time to carefully planned out everything, both before and after, so any action he my friend is planning now is all in vain.
That was when i opened up to him about my own several encounter, having lost upto 100k in one year in different occations to scammers" so i have learned my lesson to understand that nothing is Free in life, everything comes at a Cost, what is call luck is probably when opportunity knocks on the door of a prepared man, preparation here requires diligence, steadfastness, consistency so that when the opportunity comes it will be worthwhile, not waiting for some wishing imaginations to happen, those who understood how desperate people can be especially when it comes to finances will definitely utilise any means to take advantage no matter what is at stack.
