Desde hace mucho me he dedicado de una forma u otra a crear, a generar arte y eso me ha servido de mucho. Trabajé como muralista varios años en mi juventud y aunque ya no he realizado murales desde hace mucho tiempo, es cierto que he pintado otras cosas como cuadros o ilustraciones. Aunque claramente no soy ilustrador, hoy vengo a presentarte mi primera ilustración de este 2024.
For a long time, I have been dedicated in one way or another to creating, to generating art and that has served me a lot. I worked as a muralist for several years in my youth and although I have not made murals for a long time, it is true that I have painted other things like paintings or illustrations. Although I am clearly not an illustrator, today I come to present my first illustration of this 2024.

Por supuesto que para lograr un buen trabajo tenía que hacerlo con la herramienta adecuada, en este caso utilicé Photoshop.

El primer paso es trazar nuestro modelo.

Aunque parezca un asunto menor, trazar a nuestro personaje es crucial, no es necesario que sea un trazado perfecto, ya que será una pintura digital la que haremos y habrán correcciones que hacer o errores afortunados que nos ayudarán a obtener el resultado que buscamos. De comenzar a pintar sin trazar, es probable que nuestro resultado sea diferente a nuestro modelo. Recuerda trazar en una nueva capa y una vez trazado, bloquea la capa para evitar errores.
Although it may seem like a minor issue, tracing our character is crucial, it is not necessary for it to be a perfect tracing, since it will be a digital painting that we will do and there will be corrections to make or fortunate errors that will help us obtain the result we are looking for. If we start painting without tracing, it is likely that our result will be different from our model. Remember to trace on a new layer and once traced, lock the layer to avoid errors.
En una nueva capa comenzarás a pintar, recuerda tomar los colores de la imagen original para lograr la mayor similitud. On a new layer you will start painting, remember to take the colors from the original image to achieve the greatest similarity. It is painting, therefore, there will be hundreds of colors within the art that will arise from the mixture of the colors that you select from the original image. Don’t worry about separating the colors by layer, the result will not be the same, the correct thing is that all the paint is on one layer. The correct separation of layers should be: subject, background and any other element of interest.

Para este trabajo solo utilicé un pincel que viene por defecto en Photoshop, llamado “Óleos reales Kyle - 01”.

The next thing I had to do was resolve the issue of where the character would be located, since I wanted his representation not to be enclosed, so to achieve this only a branch was necessary.
A este punto estaba bastante feliz con los resultados, sin embargo era necesario trabajar la iluminación para lograr impactar aún más.
At this point I was quite happy with the results, however it was necessary to work on the lighting to make an even greater impact.
Con ayuda de una máscara de capa y un sólido color violeta pude añadir sombras a todo el fondo, eliminando solo donde quería añadir brillo. Luego, con una máscara de capa y un sólido color amarillo, añadí más brillo para dar ese efecto de iluminación perfecto. Luego repetí este mismo proceso en el personaje y la rama, variando levemente la cantidad de mezcla.
With the help of a layer mask and a solid violet color I was able to add shadows to the entire background, eliminating only where I wanted to add brightness. Then, with a layer mask and a solid yellow color, I added more brightness to give that perfect lighting effect. Then I repeated this same process on the character and the branch, slightly varying the amount of mix.
A este punto ya el arte estaba en sus retoques finales, donde solo añadí una capa de textura de papel y una de desgaste para obtener el resultado final y claro, mi firma como artista.
At this point, the art was already in its final touches, where I only added a layer of paper texture and one of wear to obtain the final result and of course, my signature as an artist.
Como soy un apasionado de la iluminación, realicé también la versión nocturna de mi lorito.
As I am passionate about lighting, I also made the night version of my little parrot.
