Hello everyone.
Couple weeks back we went for a hike on the mountain Trebević. Mountain Trebević is surrounding city Sarajevo from the south. It is popular place to go hiking with nice trails. It was my first time hiking to the peak of the mountain Trebević. We started at 1060 meters above sea level and hiked to the peak which is 1629 meters above sea level.
You can also reach mountain via Cable Car. View of city Sarajevo are beautiful from here. I will share some photos from my previous visit to Trebević Cable Car. During 1984 Winter Olympic games Bobsled and luge track competition were held here.
Our starting point was near hotel Pino. Here there are parking places and hiking trails start from here. From here you can reach Cable Car and it is quite near. The peak of the mountain is on the opposite side so we will use that trail.
As you can see parking place is full of the car since weather was nice and everyone wants to spend weekend on the fresh air.
As you can see Cable Car and Olympic Bobsled track is quite close.
Here are the trails and routes. Our friend made a plan so we used H1 trail that is a bit more steep then other trails as it goes straight up the mountain. That is red trail in the middle of the map.
Our stop will be at mountain home or Planinarski dom with lovely views. Here we will have break and then we will continue to the peak of the mountain.
And here we start. Trails are very interesting as you go.

Trails are clean and easy to use.
At this part of the route these tree roots are so interesting. It is like you walk on the wooden stairs.

There is bike track as well. This part is only for bikes.
H1 and we continue. On this trail we go directly uphill so it is steep.

This is our first check point. It is called Dobre Vode. Here there is some vacant mountain home or planinarski dom Dobre Vode.
If you go in this direction you will reach the peak of the mountain. While coming back we used this trail and now we went in opposite direction.

You can see now that trail is a bit different. We dont climb that sharply uphill as we did at the begining.
Hike here is quite easier.
Trail is not that much wide.
And we almost reached our first stop. Mountain home Jure Franko is about 10 minutes from here.
And we got to this point. There are two ways to go.
On the left side is our route and mountain home.
Right path goes to location ofAustro Hungarian trenches on Trebević.
Now there are some remains of trenches and fortification.
And finally out of the woods.
Views from here are beautiful.
This is trail to the peak but first we have to take a break.
Down is mountain home or Planinarski dome Jure Franko.
It has beautiful views. It was crowded so we did not enter. It is great place to stop and enjoy the view.
Mountain home Jure Franko is at 1430 meters above sea level. Up to this point we climbed around 370 meters. It took us around one hour and 20 minutes to this point.
Views from here are lovely.

After break we continue our journey to the top of the mountain Trebević.
Mountain home is so small now. We are getting closer.
Now trail is going over the ridge. Here you have to be a bit more careful. Yet it is not that challenging. There were people on the trails with kids as well.

1629 meters above sea level.
We reached here after three hours and 20 minutes.
There are lovely view points near the peak.
We spent some time here and it was time to go back.

One more look at the mountain.
Going down is much easier. This trail is very good. Pine trees around are so long.
Beautiful place to rest.

And we are back at H1 trail.
When we come back to our starting points we saw a group of horses eating around.
Interesting to see them just eating the grass and they are not disturbed by people.
Here you can see remains of Olympic Bobsled trail. This should be third track of Bobsled as there were track on the mountain Trebević during Winter Olympic games 1984.
Trails from here lead to the Trebević Cable Car. I will share photos from my
previous visit here.
This part of the mountain Trebević is close to the city. Height of this part of mountain Trebević is around 1100 meters above sea level.
Cable Car is close to the Old Town city center.
It takes only 7 minutes to take you here.
Views from here are beautiful.
You can see Sarajevo very well.
We had lovely hike to mountain Trebević. It was my first time hiking here and I liked it a lot. Views on the mountain are very beautiful. Very refreshing and relaxing hike. Super place to visit.
