Naturally, when you talk about tournaments, it involves a set of people competing and aiming for a reward. That is the case with tournaments in splinterlands tournaments.
Splinterlands tournaments are events. They are scheduled competition where players compete for a prize. The good thing about tournaments is that players, especially new players, can use them to stack up rewards.
There are modes when it comes to splinterlands tournaments. First, there's the modern and wild tournament mode. In Wild tournament, all kinds of cards are allowed, but in modern tournament, only modern set of cards are allowed.
There is also what is called open tournament. Here, there are no restrictions to the kinds of cards used. Rather, every player in the tournament is given the same set of cards to provide a level playing field. In other words, this is the mode of tournament where your skill as a player will be relied on.
There are also types of tournaments.
There is the sit and go tournament where the tournament only begins once the needed number of players have been reached. So there is no set time for the tournament to begin. This type of tournament usually involves a small amount of players and they last for a short while.
The second type of tournaments is the Anytime tournament. This tournament has a set time for it to start. In this type of your tournament, players can carefully select their team and submit it when they deem fit. This tournament ranks players based on the number of rounds gone and the performance.
For single elimination tournaments, which is another type of tournament, players must register and even check in, in order to be eligible. In addition, for a player to be able to participate in such type of tournament, the player must have a summoner and up to 6 monsters from the eligible cards.
Newbies might be wondering the need to participate in tournaments. First, it's a good way to improve one's skills. Facing other players who are probably better or technically sound in battles can help sharpen your own skills too. It might prove too hard at first, but I believe the more one does something, the more that person gets better at it.
This is why I advise newbies to manage their expectations when participating in tournaments. Its okay to strive to win, but I Believe that what's more important is the experience, the lessons learned and the skill set gained.
Furthermore, like I mentioned before, there are rewards that come from tournaments. Such rewards can do a lot to give newbies a smooth and incredible time in splinterlands.
