We always try to go to places or mix with people who treat us well, smile when we meet, listen to us when we talk about a problem and try to give a proper solution. Be it a shopkeeper or a friend or family member. In life, we all get to know hundreds of businessmen. Some people's kind words win our hearts, while others prick us like a thorn in our hearts. Humanity is hidden in these acquaintances. Today I want to share two experiences from my life, where one businessman impressed me, and the other was a little disappointed. These two incidents have taught me that business is not just limited to selling products, it is also a big part of human behavior, beliefs and relationships.
How many shopkeepers, vendors or service providers do we talk to every day.
Some of them remember our names, some just keep track of the money. Some come forward with a problem, some make the problem more complicated. These small moments have a big impact on our lives. Just as a good businessman becomes like a family member, a bad businessman teaches us to be careful.
The 2021 Corona pandemic. Everything was at a standstill. Office work, studies, communication—everything was online. My old laptop was no longer working. I needed to buy a new computer. But I had no idea about it. At that time, my friend told me about a computer shop. The employee of the shop is a middle-aged gentleman, who is very friendly and professional. When I told him about my needs and concerns, he listened to me very patiently. Not only that, he explained to me in detail about the best options in the market. He chose a computer according to my budget and needs.
But the most amazing thing was his service. After the computer was delivered, I faced a problem. He solved it for me through a video call at 10 pm. Even after a long time, I still go there whenever I have any problems with my computer and he is still as friendly and helpful as before.
This experience taught me how important a businessman's honesty and good manners are. Because of his manners, I not only stopped buying computers from him, but also encouraged everyone I knew to buy electronic goods from his shop.
But not all businessmen are like that. I have also met a businessman in my life whose manners disappointed me a lot. It was when I was buying a mobile phone. The shop looked quite big and modern. The shopkeeper very confidently said that he would give me the best deal and he was also an acquaintance of mine but when I got the phone in my hand, I still didn't feel anything. But after 1 day I realized that the phone was refurbished. The battery was draining very quickly and the phone was getting hot.
When I went to the shop with this problem, the behaviour of that businessman completely changed. He didn't listen to me but said that I had given the phone right away and now if there is a problem, it is the company's responsibility. When I asked him to return the phone, he did not agree at all. In the end, I had to go through a lot of trouble.
This incident taught me that not only the product, but also the behavior and honesty of a businessman are equally important. Fraud or bad behavior not only loses a customer, but also many other potential customers through him.
Business is not only for profit, it is also a means of building relationships with people. If a businessman is honest and helpful, his business not only survives, but it also grows day by day. And if someone cheats or behaves badly, his business may last for a few days, but eventually it will be destroyed.
I still remember the owner of that computer shop, because he did not just sell a product, he earned my trust. And I could not forget that mobile shop, because he just took my money, broke my trust. Customers do not just buy your product, they also buy your behavior. Behave well, do business honestly, and you will see your business move forward on its own.
