Chinese New Year is just around the corner but the nation is just recovering from the COVID and number of people allowed in a certain place is still restricted to a small group.

Sally was out to do her new year shopping as she needed new clothes and to get some Chinese New Year snacks and goodies to feed her visitors. While shops were still selling the usual merchanise, everything seemed a little muted. Fewer people were on the streets and whoever on the street wears a facemask. With an already decline in festivities, COVID-19 made things worse. Traditionally, streets were packed and people just mingle in the festivities and get used to the crowdedness where everyone comes out to shop.

Sally bought a red dress and a few cans of festive cookies with much ease but she didn't felt good even thought she got her loot. People are further apart and festivities are faded, she missed the days a few years ago. She really hoped for things to turn out better and allow people to have confidence to come out and bring back the hustle and bustle the way things are in the past. She let out a sigh of disappointment and thought to herself, "This is a Chinese New Year of no tradition."
