Hello, everyone! this is my very first attempt at reviewing a movie or TV series and today i'll be reviewing a murder mystery show called "The Residence" written by Paul William Davies. I’ve always had a deep appreciation for writers of shows, as I always feel like the writers don’t always get enough credit as they are the ones behind every jaw dropping movies or tv shows we come across. When I heard about The Residence, Netflix’s latest murder mystery set in the White House, I knew I had to watch it, as I’m a real big fan of anything murder mysteries. Now, after finishing the show, I’m excited to share my thoughts on whether it delivers or not.

Plot Overview
The Residence takes the traditional murder mystery formula and places it in one of the most iconic and high stakes locations in the world, the White House. The story begins when a body is discovered during a state dinner, With a house full of high profile guests, political figures, and staff members, everyone is a suspect.
The lead investigator, played by Udo Aduba a somewhat unconventional detective with the MPD, is tasked with unraveling the mystery. As the case unfolds, it becomes clear that this is more than just a simple murder. One dead body, 132 rooms, and a whooping 157 suspects, So who are these suspects in the White House, a house filled with powerful, influential people? Why would they have been involved in the victims death?, just adds to the intriguing story as pointing fingers in such a monumental house and getting everyone to co-operate will NOT be easy.
The murder mystery genre is full of stories set in grand mansions, cruise ships, and small towns, but The Residence stands out by using the White House as its backdrop, this immediately captivated me personally, the fact that a crime could be committed in one of the most secure places in the world instantly makes it more compelling.
A good mystery of course relies on strong characters, casting Giancarlo Esposito( from breaking bad) and Udo Azuba( from Orange is the new black). The series introduces a diverse ensemble of political elites, staff members, and guests, each with their own secrets and motivations, which sometimes had me questioning how they were ever hired in the White house in the first place but the diversity of characters only made the show even more intriguing.
Of course the biggest strengths of any murder mystery drama is its ability to keep the audience guessing. Just when you think you’ve figured out who the killer is, the show throws in another twist that changes everything. The series carefully plants clues throughout, rewarding attentive viewers who love to piece together mysteries and also those who like to throw wild guesses about.
Overall, The Residence is an entertaining and well crafted murder mystery that stands out due to its unique White House setting, strong characters, and unpredictable twists. Would I recommend it? Absolutely, Yes if you are into murder mysteries
