Hey there, Hive! I’m Yefaa, and I thought I’d take a moment to share a bit about myself. Nothing too formal—just a quick dive into who I am and what makes me... well, me!
I grew up in the city of Port Harcourt, a place that holds many cherished memories for me. Unlike most people, I’ve lived a pretty sheltered life. While my neighbors played outside in the sun, I often spent my time indoors. I guess that’s where my love for books began. Those early years shaped so much of who I am today.
I come from a family of seven, with three brothers and one sister. Fun fact: I have a twin brother! (But no, we’re not identical.) I love all my siblings dearly, but my elder brother holds a special place in my heart. He’s one of the most amazing people I know, and anyone who’s met him would agree.
Fast forward to now, I’m someone deeply passionate about media—not just photography but also creative storytelling. I love using a camera to tell captivating stories through pictures and videos. I’m also a poet, and it’s my dream to make life a little brighter, one piece at a time. When I’m not writing school reports, editing videos or photos, or meeting deadlines, you’ll likely find me lost in a good book, spending quality time with my friends, catching up on the latest news, or indulging in some much-needed beauty sleep.
Like everyone, I’ve had my share of ups and downs. One defining experience for me was starting life in a new place, away from the home I’d always known. Growing up, I valued freedom and independence and couldn’t wait to leave for university, convinced that life would finally begin. But just three months in, I started feeling homesick—missing my squabbles with my younger brother, my cozy pink bedroom, and seeing my mom every day. Adjusting to university life was tough. I experienced culture shock and learned that not everyone shares the same principles or values. That season taught me the importance of understanding others to form meaningful relationships, staying true to myself, and cherishing the moments I have with family. Funny how these experiences shape us in ways we don’t realize at the time.
Right now, I’m in a season of exploring ways to grow in my academic field, discovering new creative outlets, and figuring out what it means to live a fulfilling, purpose-driven life. I may not have it all figured out, but I’ve come to embrace the idea that the journey is just as important as the destination. And with God by my side, I know I cannot fail.
Lastly, I want to share that I’m a believer in the Gospel of Christ, which I hold to be the ultimate truth.
So, that’s me in a nutshell: a curious soul navigating life one step at a time, with a love for God, books, media, and a desire to make the world around me just a little better in whatever ways I can.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me! If this resonates with you, let’s connect—I’m always up for a great conversation.
