Hello friends, I hope everyone is well. In the last post, I shared about my Lalon Shah shrine. Today I will show you around the shrine, I hope you will like it very much.
The pictures that you can see now are the ones I couldn't share in the last episode. I saw this old truck, which is a car from the British era from a long time ago, and it is here today. I met this kid and I asked him for directions and this kid asked me to take a picture, so I took this picture.
Who is Lalon Shah?
He was a Baul poet from Kushtia district of Bangladesh. Many call him a great philosopher, saint and Baul poet. He lived from 1974 to 1890 and during this time he took Bengali culture a long way forward.
He is also known as Lalon Fakir. The songs or poems written by him are called Lalon Geeti. He had many fans who loved and followed him a lot. This place has been created in his memory due to this love of his.
The songs he wrote are against the differences of religion, caste or any other issue so that there is no difference between people on the basis of religion or caste or any other issue. People live together with everyone by being true, loving and humanitarian, so he wrote many songs and poems on these topics which people still listen to today.
Why Lalon's shrine?
His last tomb is kept here. First, there is a beautiful gate through which you have to enter and its roads are very beautiful. After entering here, you will see many graves and inside is the interesting grave of Lalon Shah.
This shrine looks very beautiful from home where many people come and take pictures and next to it there is an auditorium and an academic tour where many old utensils used by Lalon Shah are kept.
Not only that, there is a big festival of Lalon here every year. Many kinds of things are sold in this fair and a concert is held at night where various types of artists sing Lalon's songs. People come here not only from Bangladesh but also from far and wide countries to see this fair. For this reason, a big field has been kept in front of this Lalon shrine. Where a concert or program is organized.
I went to visit a little earlier in the afternoon where there are not many people now, but usually this place is very crowded. I also see many people fishing in the pond here.
After that, I eat a kulfi malai here. Which is usually very popular in these places, these Kulfi Malai are as beautiful to look at as they are delicious to eat.
If this was Lalon's last place, then it has been beautifully decorated and has been beautifully made in the memory of people. There are many types of followers of Fakir Lalon here. They often play music. I also got to see Eid music and music but I could not record it and their pictures were not taken so I cannot share it with you.
There was an auditorium here and a person was shooting birds and you can see everything on this map where everything is in this shrine.
It was a very beautiful experience. I have listened to many songs of Lalon before and read poems, but I was very happy to go here and see many things. The places here will look even more beautiful if the fair comes. I hope I can show you that in the future too. I am ending here for today.
Little YouTube video of my visit.
