Hello everyone, today I will take everyone to eat Spanish food in Barcelona. This is probably my favorite restaurant on this trip. We accidentally found this restaurant while walking past during lunch and saw people standing outside the restaurant. It was strange that even though it was small, there were people waiting in line to eat. So I searched and found out that this restaurant is a real homemade Calanta restaurant. We wanted to eat food that was truly local, so we planned to go another day because there were so many people today that we probably wouldn't make it in time. And this Spanish restaurant is called Restaurant Portolès.
Restaurant Portolès is an authentic Calanta Spanish restaurant located in a tourist area. It's not hard to find. This restaurant doesn't accept reservations. If you want to eat, you have to go early or wait in line because the owner will call the queue in front of the restaurant. The food that you order each day may change. The chef will recommend what's on the menu that day. And most importantly, the prices are very cheap compared to many restaurants in this tourist area. The menu is written on the wall. If any menu is sold out, it will be deleted. And there is a menu book to choose from.
The decoration of the shop is unique, still maintaining the style of the shop. There are not many tables in the shop, so people have to wait in line for a long time, but it is not a problem if you want to try authentic Spanish food. We intended to go on time, but it seemed that there were people waiting before us, so we had to wait in line for another three for about half an hour. After a while, there were seats. And we don't know much about food, so the waiter brought an English menu with pictures and the chef came to recommend what food there was today.
After getting the menu, we chose along with bread. The drink was draft beer and we ordered two dishes, Callos Amb Cigrons and ***Steak with Black Pepper Sauce ***as the main dish. While waiting for the food, I looked at the atmosphere around and took pictures of the atmosphere for everyone to see. There were a lot of customers, every table was full, no wonder. While waiting, I drank beer while waiting for the food. After a while, the food was served. Both dishes looked very delicious. Callos Amb Cigrons was soft and smooth on the tongue. The sauce was deliciously well-rounded. This is my favorite menu. I like it very much. Another one is Steak with Black Pepper Sauce. This menu is also delicious. The taste of the sauce is well-rounded with the steak I ordered, almost perfectly matching the sauce. We ate deliciously. It was worth the wait.
After a while, we ordered dessert to finish off our meal. We ordered Crema Catalana Casera and Flan de Huevo Casero. I saw it in the review. It should be a famous dessert in this area because I saw many restaurants have it, so I wanted to try it. After ordering, I sat and waited for a while. Both were served. Crema Catalana Casera looked very delicious. The top was dry and crispy caramel, and the bottom was soft and smooth, with the aroma of caramel that went well together. The taste was not too sweet, which I liked very much. Another thing was Flan de Huevo Casero, which was also delicious. It was fragrant, sweet, creamy, and deliciously well-rounded.
After finishing the meal, I went to pay at the counter. When I checked the bill, I was shocked because the price was very cheap compared to many restaurants, and the taste was delicious, worth the wait and the price. I like this Restaurant Portolès, both the atmosphere and the taste. I hope everyone enjoys my post. Thank you for following. Have a nice day.
