What a musician eats at Christmas?

Hello friends of this music loving community. This December I want to enjoy good live music at home with my family. What can I offer to eat to an important musician that I invited home to celebrate my birthday, Christmas and the end of the year? That question was going around in my head once the invitation was made. I know, let's roast chicken over charcoal. In the meantime we can make music around the grill and enjoy the delicious aroma.

Let's get to work, preparing the chicken with seasonings is the first thing to do and so I did it the day before. Then I let it rest. The day came to light the charcoal in the oven, grill or barbecue. When it was well lit we placed the chicken and closed the oven. They helped me at home. The visitor had not yet arrived.

Another peculiar thing was the transportation of the musicians was in a horse-drawn wagon or cart. What tremendous fun. Finally they arrived and the chicken was beginning to smell.

The picture of my friend driving the horse is a joke. The musician is completely blind and of course cannot drive. But when the driver got off he gave him the reins and threw the photo.

Also as a garnish I prepared a very Cuban rice, arroz moro or congris and for dessert sweet coconut with cookies. One of the guests brought a mayonnaise prepared by her that is a delight.

The guests were the musical artistic duo "Entre puntos y tonadas". With the artists Yaimara Ramirez and Luciano Lorenzo. She is a singer and he is a singer and guitarist. I think I have introduced them to you before.

They accompany me at all times when I develop cultural activities. They have also interpreted my lyrics in their tunes in television programs such as Palmas y cañas and Vámonos para el guateque.

As soon as they arrived they sang a beautiful medley that began with "Las mañanitas" a famous song that is given as a gift in Mexico and other Latin American countries to those who have a birthday. Other very beautiful songs were heard, I requested "La tarde" by Sindo Garay, I invite you to look for it, it is a very heartfelt song where the loved one is flattered.

The almost done chicken deserves a little flip. It was turned over on the grill, checked to make sure it was not burnt. Then followed the canturía, that's how they call this part where décimas are interpreted.
There was even a dance. Tremendous fun. We laughed a lot and even danced. Luciano plays the guitar with a special mastery and sings very well. Yaimara sings beautifully and enjoys her art.

After so much fun and intoxicated by the smell of chicken and rice. We took it out to a tray and prepared the table to enjoy it as a big family.

Everyone was in love with the taste of the chicken. The cook, that is me, received a lot of compliments. Without a doubt, it was a good decision to offer roast chicken to the musicians.

They loved it and promised to come back, I put as a condition that they could not keep the guitar.
I hope you enjoyed my post. If you feel like it, make a chicken like this and enjoy the cooking time with music and friends. Christmas and New Year's Eve are special times to live unique moments. Congratulations, health and blessings.
