Oddly Satisfying Routine

I am a Christian, but I've struggled with going to Church over the last couple of years. At the worst of it I probably did two times a year max, up till last year when I think I attended about a dozen times. Since my dad passed late January though, revisiting church going was something I decided to address and am glad I did. So far, save for a few odd weekends, I have been fairly consistent with it, and I consider it quite a blessing.

Am certainly not alone in the trend of self identifying Christians who skip churchgoing for one reason or the other. I certainly don't judge, but with a fair bit of consistency over the last couple of months I understand why it may be necessary for bible believers. I won't be going indepth, but I do think it important to show a bit of concern for the things we claim to resonate with. Even if it is just routine, merely going about those steps might be oddly satisfying.

Doing certain things just to tick the check box doesn't sound like much fun, but it is necessary sometimes for our personal growth. It is where discipline comes into play. Just the same way we see exercise and practice as important, certain areas of our lives require the same level of consistency too even when we don't feel like it. I imagine how much growth I'd have if I pushed through certain things I had low interest and low motivation to perform even when I felt them necessary.

We are creatures of habit. It sometimes takes forced action for us to truly find satisfaction in areas we know better already. Going forward am already looking at incorporating a lot more routines into my life like ensuring I check in on certain loved ones whether I feel like or not on a weekly basis. Sometimes it just takes action, consistency and patience to see real value.
