Namaste š
Hope you all are doing well!
I was at Bhrigu Lake (4200m) with my two friends after starting our journey from Rauli Kholi base camp today. We reached at the lake in around 2-3 hours of time and had some time to spare before heading back to our camp.
My friends were super tired but I had an itch to see what was on the other side of that peak.
I started off!!!
I kept all my stuff with my friends by the lake and fixed my eyes on my target. It was quite difficult to climb up there because of loose rocks but I was focused.
As I was climbing up the mountain, I was able to witness the lake from a completely different perspective. I was able to figure out how this lake usually forms when ice from the mountains around it melts and water is collected in this deep area that forms the lake.
I was a little bit nervous as I was going there alone but the thought of reaching to the top and seeing whatās on the other side kept motivating me.
As I was climbing, the lake kept getting smaller and smaller. I was soon able to realise how difficult itās going to be to climb that mountain peak as now I was able to see the actual incline of the mountain with its loose rocks.
In between this extreme terrain, I saw some flowers that were completely unexpected for me. Those were one of the best looking flowers Iāve ever seen in my life.
The final part of the climb was so difficult that I had to put my phone in my pocket so as to use both my hands to climb up. I was not able to capture at that time but youāll know why after seeing the photo below.
I was quite high from the lake by now. I could hardly see my friends down at the lake. I was at around 4350m elevation from the sea level. I also realised that Bhrigu lake was quite circular and perfect looking.
Summit -
After climbing for about half an hour, I was there on top. My legs were shaking to see the view that my eyes saw at that moment.
Just a few meters away from me was a cliff about a km deep!!!
I was on the top of the ridge now. I couldnāt believe what my eyes saw. I was in literal heaven. I saw the mesmerising view of Hamta valley and another lush green valley that was so remote that people will take a week to reach there.
On the other side was Hamta pass that connects Kullu Valley to Spiti Valley at Chatru. I was also able to spot some highest mountain peaks of the area namely Indrasan and Deo Tibba both of them are above 6000m from sea level.
I was very thrilled to be on the top. I was feeling like I conquered the whole world. While I was enjoying myself at the top, I realised that if Bhrigu Rishi must have mediated somewhere around here, this could possibly be that spot because of the views this peak offered.
One of the rarest thing I saw there was Inderkilla peak. This peak is quite mysterious to locals as it looked like a castle. Thatās why it was named Inderkilla, where Inder is the God of Thunder and Killa is the castle.
It indeed looked like the castle of some God.
I tried to capture the photos as beautifully as I could but I can surely say that the images that I captured are not paying any justice to the feeling that I had at that time while I was looking everything up with my eyes up close and that too all alone!
The wind was also very fast up there. I was worried that I might fall if it gets too fast and this place was not a good one to fall.š
I wanted to capture everything that was seeing on my phone. I got an idea of capturing the panorama and it came out to be amazing.
One funny thing that I got in my mind was that no one will believe me if Iād show them these pictures that I was there! So I captured a selfi of myself there as a proof. š
After spending about 30 mins on the top all alone, I started my decent as we had to go back to our campsite too and I was worried that wind might not get any faster.
This experience was the adventure of a lifetime for me!!! I will never forget about this unique experience that I felt on the top of this peak all alone. I tried to forward that amazing experience to you guys through my blog and hope youāll like it.
