I can recall vividly when I could not stay away from Maxxy, a neighbor's dog whom I had become so fond of. We were so deeply entangled with each other that I made it my pet, I and the kids in the neighborhood always had a nice time and of course it found solace in us. Maxxy became my adopted PET and we were so addicted to each other, I mean so glued and stuck to one another.
Pets are commonly known to be animals kept primarily for companionship, fun and enjoyment, thus they make life worth living. While they serve this purpose, ensuring fun-filled moments, it is necessary that pets are well catered for in all aspects as living beings.
Pet care could be very tasking at times but the fun is simply mind-blowing, the fact that it encompasses a wide range of responsibilities to ensure good health, happiness and well-being of a pet further adds to the fuss of the task, not withstanding, we must see to it that our pets feel better, comfortable and at ease just the way we would want to feel
Let's have a detailed breakdown of very important and key aspects of pet care:
Nutrition
Appropriate balanced nutrition must be provided to fit in the different different but appropriate age, specie, size. This is a very crucial matter which must be treated delicately. Pets must be given high quality foods, easy accessibility to clean water at all times and avoid feeding them with human foods which seem harmful and could be hazardous to their health. Maxxy became my full responsibility when it became my pet, I made sure I bought bones which I cooked and made edible for consumption, Maxxy really liked carnivorous meals and totally abandoned its canned food. Having noticed that, I made sure she had what she liked, not forcing her on what she had phobia for -her meal
Regular exercise
It's funny right? Yup, kinda. Like humans, animals need to keep fit too through regular exercises which involves work outs, strolling and races. Exercise just as it pumps blood round the body, does same to animals, regulating free flow of blood and ensuring it's circulation. For pets to maintain a healthy weight and mental stimulation. Maxxy joins us on all exercise procedures like racing etc and finds so much fun in all exercise activities.
Grooming
Good hygiene is necessary for a pet's health, regular baths, brushing scattered fur and trimming nails helps maintain a pet's overall hygiene. When grooming procedures are rightly observed, an opportunity is provided to check and fish out health issuslike skin irritations, parasites or lumps
Veterinary care
Routine medical checkups are essential for pet care and maintenance. Regular checkups aid early detection of health problems. In cases where a pet gets a fracture or domestic accident, it is necessary that first aid be administered urgently. A trusted professional veterinarian should be employed and made to be on standby should incase an emergency case arises.
Socialization/emotional well-being

Proper socialization is essential especially for young animals striving to grow, they should be made to feel comfortable around people, mingle well amongst friends and stay away from strangers. Well behaved pets tend to blend in with their environment. Additionally, like humans, pets have emotions and feelings too, that I learnt from Maxxy. Anytime I was moody, she sat beside me sadly, when I was excited or happy, she wagged her tail continuously and made funny sounds. She loved it when I patted her, rubbed her back scattering her furs in the process, this goes a long way to tell how much care, love and attention our pets needs.
Training/Security alertness
It is our responsibility to show our pets the rights and the wrong. They should be taught to understand and obey simple commands, boundaries and rules. Training pets requires patience and endurance. Pets should also be trained to be sensitive and security conscious, always on the watch while looking out for ills in the environment. I personally trained Maxxy to bark at strangers and this sounds as an alert especially at night

Meanwhile, it is our obligation to make the process fun and fulfilling. Pet care although tedious in nature is another avenue for nature survey and enrichment.
