47 Trips Around The Sun, Whilst I'm Celebrating The Equinox

Today I celebrated 47 trips around the sun, 47 winters and 47 summers. When you look at it that way, that is not a lot really, is it. You add years onto it and suddenly time takes on a whole different meaning. I still see myself as being young, as someone that has many more trips around the sun to do. I mean why not, why the hell not? There are still many things that I want to do and many things that I still need to figure out. I still have a lot of room for growth.

Birthday Celebrations Last night, with my sister's circle.

But besides all of that, I began my celebrations on Wednesday, when I attended my Biodanza class and took a step out of my day to day life and connected with my heart. Connected with the all parts of myself. Which really fits into the spirit of Equinox, the time of Balance, Awakening of New Life. This is the time to bring ourselves into balance, just as nature is. When the night and day are equal, the energies of the Sun and the Moon, of the light and the dark. The inner and the outer world.

The natural world, nature in all her glory, is my greatest teacher. The seasons, offers us so many teachings, everything is connected in nature. Interlocked and even if it doesn't seem like it on the surface, perfectly balanced. Just like our own bodies, the spiritual, the emotional, the physical, what affects one, affects all. The things we bury, will manifest in physical form, unless we allow them to flow. This balanced flow of energy, that we are a part of, now is the time, to open ourselves up to these teachings.

My view this morning, as I went for a walk. Spring has certainly sprung.

In the Northern Hemisphere, Spring has finally sprung. Everywhere there are signs of new growth, the days are getting longer and warmer. The energy is turning outwards, as we shake off the last dregs of winter. Now is the time to reach out for want we want, to plant our seeds, to
make things happen. Winter was the time to dream and sink into our desires, now is the time to step out into the world and take risks.

Last night, I when to a dear friends house, where there was a sister's circle in my honour. We ate delicious food, I received some wonderful gifts and felt rather spoiled to to be honest. We chatted and laughed and as the night drew in our time came to an end. I walked home in the dark, feeling very nourished and nurtured, full of gratitude for my friends.

This morning I woke up, to my eldest daughter wishing me a happy birthday. Whilst I was out last night, my girls made me some vegan scones which we had for breakfast, with some organic Strawberry Jam and Pear juice. Today I wanted to spend at home with my girls. Two close friends dropped by with some lunch for us, yummy falafel wraps, which we ate outside in the sunshine. Tonight my eldest will make Miso Soup for dinner and we will watch a family movie. A perfect ending I think, to what has been a pretty wonderful day.
