Have it all

It has been a dark and moody day so far, without any rain or cold but with a winterish feel nevertheless. I often complain about the lack of rain and the constant sunshine in my part of the world but the truth is that if I don't see the sun for a couple of days, I feel depressed. As most of the Mediterranean people! And a cloudy day after the rainy one yesterday is already too much for my spoiled temper.

    Some sun over here please!

I didn't even went for a walk today. I had some things to do indoors but the main reason was that I find this weather discouraging. So I opened my archives and edited a few pictures that I haven't share before from another cloudy day, two years ago and 240 miles away.

The location is a small village on the north-east side of the island of Crete in Greece. And this is what I had the pleasure of seeing in my daily walks while I was living there. The date is 3/3/2022 and despite the clouds, the rays of sun where enough to illuminate beautifully the first signs of spring!

Even a humble leaf from an olive tree was enough excuse for a picture, as it was shining under the sun! And of course the queen of the flora was the blooming almond tree, as impressive and charming as it can be!

But even the wild flowers were so lovely to see. A simple joy that I miss a bit now that I am living in a town. But I shouldn't be ungrateful. The town offers me a lot more than the village and after all, no-one can have it all!

The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 6D mark II with an EF 100mm f2.8L macro lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic.

All the pictures and the words are mine.
