My family ( my mom, sister, bro-in-law and my 3 nephews, my brother and his girlfriend ) just flew in from the Netherlands.
The last time all of them were here was 2019 ( when my father was still around ) and this is going to be the first time they will see me here with a partner on my side. It will also be the first time @clareartista will meet my mom and my sister.
We will have a get-together, tomorrow afternoon: coffee and lunch at my twin sister's place, located half an hour from here.
Although Clare and my eventual plan was to host my family here too, in our temporary rental home, it's currently such a chaos that we decided otherwise.
In fact, due to issues with what we thought was the emissions of our stove and us feeling like crap/seriously un well, Clare and I decided to start sleeping in a tent in our garden, almost a week ago ( more on that in Life Update - We are Still Around but can't wait to leave
We are preparing to leave this place, as we are returning to Italy, to Clare's house, on the 12th of January, which adds to the overall chaos.
As we have been sleeping in a tent for the last handful of days and the nights are close to freezing and to escape the aforementioned chaos, Clare and I decided to book a room in a nearby city, 15 minutes by car away from my twin sister's place and from where the rest of the family is staying.
We will be going there tomorrow, after our first family reunion and plan to spend 4 nights there. It will be nice to sleep in a proper bed and enjoy a quality shower, for a change ( as we haven't had a decent shower in months ).
And, naturally, we are looking forward to the family time and socializing for a couple of days, even though the two of us really like our quiet time.
While the toxicity in the world is coming to the light and the truth is coming out more and more, we do whatever we can to balance this chaos with our creativity, our love, humor, communication, walks in nature and much much more.
Darkness or not, there will always be light.
Sending you love and positive energy from Central Portugal.
