Hello guys!
I'm a bit late but I still have something to share with you guys. We all know that we now have a new Holozing creature based on Ice so it's only natural that I make a new fanart based on that. I guess this little guy fills one more gap for a water based creature other than the great waller. I really liked the design of this creature so I decided to make him join forces with the water healer however I made changes to her character design to fit the Ice theme. This is how it came out!
Zingu X Water Healer
The Process
- Started with a rough sketch as usual using a reference from Pinterest
- Made clean lineart from it later
- Rendered the eyes and layed down the base skin colours
- Rendered the skin using blur tool and airbrush on a multiply layer.
- Painted highlights on her skin and started adding shades on her shorts and her black top
- Rendered the shorts and adjusted the colours to fit the background I'm going to paint later.
- Started working on her hair by adding shades.
- Added more strands and highlights on her hair according to the source of light.
- Painted the base colours on Zingu.
Fully rendered Zingu at this point by adding highlights and shadows on him. Added whites on the corner of the ice to make it look more icey.
- Started working on the background at this point.
- Added some healer accessories on her shorts by laying down the base colours and shadows.
Result
Finally finished the background by adding white flowers around the atmosphere and toned the colours later.
