Tried to harvest some cabbages at Mt. Cabuyao, Tuba Benguet!
The garden shows that a lot has been harvested but few cabbages left over from their harvest.
During this time, water is not enough in the place since summer has already started. It shows that the soil was really dry and drought was everywhere. They still had to ask for water delivery according to the schedule for watering the plants.
This is their life of gardening in Mt. Cabuyao, Tuba, Benguet.

Most land in Mt. Cabuyao became garden and it became their number one source of income already. The land was dry but still, they managed to cultivate it. Some let it be cultivated or they will ask other people for it to be rented. While passing the gardens of cabbages, I saw some pieces that I could still get for food so it wouldn't go to waste.
    I checked every pieces!😂
I tried to look for cabbages that I could still save for a sumptuous dinner. I didn't bring a knife so I had a hard time picking some of it. I still have to remove or peel 1st to 3rd layer of leaves to check if it's okay to be cooked. Some were eaten by insects and had stayed inside the vegetable already so I still have to check the others. Double checked also if it's still okay until inside. Since the place was very dry, the cabbage was very dry too and needs to be peeled or remove several layers of it's leaves.

I was so t tired looking until tadaa! I found one already! I was so happy when I found a good cabbage. It's so difficult to pick and clean it with no knife.
I realize that the cabbages I see and buy in the market are also valuable since I have experience on how to harvest, pick some of it, or on how to water them.. It's difficult to harvest so I want to salute the farmers who keep on planting vegetables until harvest time. They take care of it and then when they sell it the price varies and sometimes the price won't be enough if consumers buy it.

Let's value highland vegetables because we'll never know how they were cultivated. We just buy them at the market without thinking how hard it was when it was planted. Let's buy, recommend and value our own products here in Kabenguetan!
