The Trump Trial: A Historic Moment

So I have been keeping up with the news lately, and let me tell you something, it’s huge!

We’re talking about former President Donald Trump’s trial.

Yeah, you heard me right. The thing is that it is unprecedented in America for a former president to go through a criminal trial.

    Bizarre isn’t it?

Anyway, let me just express my views on this entire hullabaloo:

First of all, why is this trial so important?

I mean, how often do you get to see a former president inside a court room?

This particular trial has attracted global attention because it has never happened before. The government has leveled some serious accusations against Trump and they will present them all before the jury. Although we think we know what transpired, there are possibilities of fresh revelations coming out during the course of the case. It looks like watching suspense movie unfolding before your very eyes.

Let us talk about the jury:

The task on their hands is indeed a heavy one. Just try to picture yourself as one of those jurors who are aware that the judgment they will make will either condemn or exonerate an ex-president.

That is a pretty serious stuff, isn’t it?

Furthermore, what makes it really intense is that, this trial is going down in New York City where everyone knows everything and everybody can tell you anything you need to know. So yeah, these people are under much pressure.

On another note of tension, have you ever thought about being an alternate juror?

You may not be part of the actual jury but you'd still stand by if any such requests come up.

And given the attention this case has attracted, I’m just wondering if these six alternates are enough?

Only time can decide that though; I guess.

Now the issue of complete witness list:

The prosecutors aren’t disclosing their roster to the defense. You know why?

It is Trump’s tweets, yes you heard me right! His tweets are causing commotion in the courtroom. The judge is not compelling the prosecutors to submit it and I believe that he has done the right thing by so doing. As must as I love Trump, he must understand that he cannot just tweet for influence on matters.

Again, there is an important question:

    Will Trump testify in court?

To be honest, if I were him I would not do it. Because, have you seen interviews with him?

No, really… He does bring solid points, but most of the time, it's very controversial.

Furthermore, if he takes a stand, he can be asked anything under the sun during cross-examination; we all know this man has skeletons in his cupboard.

So yeah, testifying would be a risky business for Donald Trump.

Overall, this trial seems to be one for the record books. It’s definitely going to be interesting seeing how it develops, so I’m going to keep watching.

    What unexpectedness lies ahead?

One thing is certain though: it will definitely be quite an adventure. So strap yourselves in tight and let us see where this crazy journey will lead us!
