Greetings to you all.Happy new week. I am @ekojah.
I am glad to participate on the
Hive-Reachout Weekly Prompt 31.with the topic: How Do You Manage Your Anger?"

There are several ways or strategies to manage anger but here I will write on some strategies to manage anger.

How Do You Manage Your Anger?

    Let me first of all
    define Anger.
Anger is a general human emotion characterized by antagonism toward someone or person or something you feel has deliberately done you wrong.
Other definitions by some philosophers are important to be known here .
Ancient Greek philosopher, Aristotle, put it this way:Anger is the desire for revenge." Similarly, Seneca, a Roman Stoic philosopher, notes, "Anger, if not restrained, is frequently more hurtful to us than the injury that provokes it.
From the above definitions, i decided to go on research and discovered the following as some of
the Best Ways to Manage Anger.
Effective anger management involves recognizing what triggers anger, learning coping strategies to fight anger and developing emotional intelligence.
Here ,I also research on some evidence-based techniques to manage anger from the unpublish book (work) of prof. Dan.Silas a theologian from bethel Christian university USA, I discovered that i or person can manage his anger through the following strategies

    1. Deep Breathing Exercises: Deep breathing helps calm the nervous system, reducing anger intensity. Take slow, deliberate breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
    2. Physical Activity: Regular exercise, such as walking, running, or yoga, can help reduce stress and anxiety, which is a common anger triggers.
    3. Mindfulness Meditation: Mindfulness practices, like meditation and guided imagery, can increase self-awareness, allowing you to recognize and manage anger more effectively. For example when you always meditate on positive things all the time you are good to manage your anger.
    4. Time-outs: Taking a break from a situation that triggers anger can help you calm down and regain control. For example, when you have friends, job or association that trigger anger, just break from those things.
    5. Communication Skills: Learning effective communication techniques, such as active listening and assertive expression of emotions, can help resolve conflicts and reduce anger.
    6. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy : This is a helpful approach in identifying and challenging negative thought patterns that contribute to anger.
I often practice the above ways of managing anger as stated by prof.Dan Silas as some of the best way of managing my anger.
Besides that,I have my own personal ways of managing anger .

My Personal Ways to Manage Anger

Personally, I have found solace or peace in spiritual practices as a pastor , Teacher of mathematics and leader or Head of Organization, when managing anger.

When I feel angry, I take a moment to pray

    and reflect on my emotions.
    Reading scriptures

provides me with guidance and perspective, reminding me that "anger lies in the bosom of a fool" (Ecclesiastes 7:9). I repeat the phrase "I refuse to be a fool" to myself, empowering me to choose a more constructive response to challenging situations.
By incorporating these strategies into daily life, individuals can better manage anger, leading to improved relationships, enhanced well-being, and a more peaceful existence.
    Friends, remember,
Unmanaged anger can have severe consequences on our physical and mental well-being, relationships, and overall quality of life. Some dangers of uncontrolled anger as recorded by World health Organization include:-
.Increased risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke

    • Weakened immune system
    • Damaged relationships and social isolation

    • Impaired cognitive function and decision-making
    • Increased risk of anxiety and depression
I encourage us to manage our anger.
Anger is everybody one or two minutes of madness but it can be managed. Thank you for reading through.God bless you.
