My beer weekend adventure in Szeged

in voilk •  3 months ago

Walking around Szeged, Hungary, this past weekend, I noticed attractive beer bottles and cans in a shop window.

A perfect reflection of my excitement in front of the beer market

The days were extremely warm for this time of year, and the idea of refreshing myself with my favorite drink immediately came to mind.

The idea of refreshing myself with beer instantly made me thirsty for beer 😄

That's why I decided to refresh myself and at the same time, for the first time in our #BEER community, for the #BeerSaturday contest, publish a post from a Pub abroad, with pictures of Saturday.

I searched the internet for pubs where I can drink craft beer and I chose the pub closest to my accommodation: Malata Beer&Grill

When I saw how pleasant the atmosphere was in this pub, after drinking a beer in the evening, I went back for a round and the next day, before returning to the home.

I have not been interested in Hungarian craft production until now, but judging by the beers I tried in only one pub, I believe that Hungary has lot to offer...

I will dedicate myself to researching a little more in detail, so that I will be ready for the next visit.

This time at Pub Malata, I decided to choose the following beers.
I was drinking in the evening:

    1. Delirium Argentum A Belgian IPA style of beer from brewery Huyghe, an old traditional family brewery, which has been brewing since 1904, in Appelhoek in Melle, where beer has been brewed since 1654.

At the first sip of this beer, aromas of spices, citrus fruits, grapefruit and a slight taste of caramel appear.

    And

    1. Blue Echo, from the craft brewery Brew Your Mind, is IPA - New England beer style, perfect taste and balanced bitterness. This is a beer with a beautiful color, taste and aroma, and I'm sorry that I won't be able to drink it in my city, because this beer is a product of a Hungarian craft brewery.

While the next day, as refreshment, I drank:

    1. Mang O
Bragg beer from Mead Scientist brewery from Budapest. Bragot is a mead based on crushed barley malt and honey. Beer with 8% alcohol and mango taste, can refresh you nicely, but also make you dizzy...

    And:

    1. Guri Meggy
Fruit beer, 5% alcohol. The hops used are Polaris. It's a pilsner lager beer brewed on a cherry base. The beer has a fruity taste with the malt and bitterness characteristic of beer.

These two beers gave a perfect synergy of color, smell and taste.

When you find yourself in Pub Malata, it's hard to decide whether to sit inside or in the garden. Decorations inside, with movie posters, various inventions related to beer, interesting figures above the board where the beers are offered for sale, as well as a shelf with the beers on offer...

Or in the garden at a pleasant 22 °C.
After a few glasses of beer, it's a real success to bring new glasses to the table because this is a self-service establishment at the bar 🙂

That's why I had to restrain myself, how much beer I would drink, so I wouldn't end up like this figure, flying pig.
