Attack of the wobbles
It was a dark and stormy night, the kind of stormy with no light, no lightning, only pouring down dark rain, no moon to be seen, no stars, only dark, only rain, falling down, pouring down, in straight showers to the ground.
(Weird sound outside. Chicken in a bad position? Does not sound good. What is happening? Cat got a chicken? Dog got a chicken? Chicken does not sound good. Dying chicken? Our dog barking at sounds. Sounds stopped. Perhaps chicken dead.)
Pouring.
(Sound back. What the heck. I don't think a chicken should sound like that. So distracted by sounds. Fireworks just went off again. Why so many fireworks tonight? Now dog barking in earnest. Weird chicken noises ceased again. My voice saying hush. Dog stopped, mostly stopped, barking. She's looking out the window, wondering if more weird chicken sounds are to come. Will I go outside and check on the weird chicken sounds after this? I probably will. I will get a flashlight and walk over to the side of the house, just in case a chicken is stuck between its coop at our neighbors' house and our side of the fence. Chickens do come in our yard sometimes. One time I was noticing a chicken on our side of the yard when the neighbor, coming from the opposite direction of her house, toward her house, saw the chicken and kind of waved her arms so the chicken went into their yard. One of their dogs promptly killed it.)
