Scholars Return -- Actifit Report Card: January 7, 2025

in voilk •  yesterday

Quick pic from the deli that I walk by on the way to school in the morning. That is one tasty looking sandwich!

Tuesday, I was up early again to hit the treadmill before the school day started and got in a 40-minute walk. Instead of writing my actifit report while on the treadmill, I quickly jammed some Splinterlands tournament battles to get them in before I was timed out. I also managed to answer a few Hive replies, but I put off my actifit report until later. I forgot to try something new with my FitBit and didn't get credit for any of my morning steps again.

It was nice getting back into the swing of things at school and chatting with the students about their adventures over the holiday. One thing that wasn't so great was all the water I'm drinking now as part of the 75 Hard challenge.

The goal is to drink 1 gallon every day, but it is difficult for me to manage with my school schedule. For one, just finding the time to put down 8oz of water during a 45-minute class that I'm teaching is tough because there is so much going on.

The biggest issue I had was with going to the restroom. Because a teacher's schedule is very rigid, I only have a few times during the day when I'm off to take a break. But after 64oz of water, I felt like I was going to explode. It is something I will have to plan much better to make sure I find the time to go several times a day during my short breaks.

After getting home from my news production club, it was already 6pm. I vegged around for 30 minutes and then did my calisthenics and yoga routine with my partner. It feels really good to get back in a routine with my workouts. I finished the workout with a few ounces of Kerrygold cheddar and a Perfect Bar.

To finish the night, my partner put on the new season 47 of Survivor. I'd never seen the show before, and I really enjoyed the interpersonal strategy and especially the backstabbing. No wonder this show has stuck around for so long.

Finally, I'm back over 10K steps, and hopefully, with school back in session, I can keep that 10K streak running strong. Making sure my treadmill steps count would go a long way to ensuring my streak continues during my 75 Hard. Until next time...
